I've been attempting to redo my daughter's room in a Disney Princess theme, but everything seems so expensive. Does anyone know where to get any Princess type items for this type of project that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Do you have any closeout type stores like Value City or AJ Wright by you? Sometimes they get comforters or sheets etc. The problem is getting the whole set!

My local AJ Wright the other day had the Starlight Princess and Flower Power Princess comforters for $19.99 but nothing else in the line.

I would also watch KMart or Target for sales or Walmart sometimes has decent prices

I just did a Princess room recently and I know what you are going through!

What I did with my kids' room when they were little was to get plain bedspreads and curtains and then jazzed them up with character throw pillows and rugs.

For your princess, a pink or lavender bedspread might be good. Take a look at Domestications.com .

Lillian Vernon has some cute princess stuff on clearance including a crown shaped decorative pillow and a tiara & tulle canopy.

JCPenney has Disney Princess bedding in the 2004 Spring Catalogue. It's a little pricey but if you get a good coupon code, it might fit in your budget.

Check out the Disney Princess posters at Art.com to add interest to the walls.

Just a few ideas. I'm sure that you already have colors and themes in mind.

Do you have Dollar near you for all the little extra's a princess needs. Also Check your building stores, Lowes,Home Depot they have the paint rugs, lamps.

I found a comforter on sale at Sears a few years ago and noted last month that it was still in stock. I found some wallpaper border at Wal-Mart last year. I've also picked up a few things like a lamp on clearance sale at the disney catalog website.

I went out and bought a Disney Princess Calendar at Sams Club I believe but I am sure that they are everywhere. I cut out the pictures and framed them with an inexpensive frame and hung them on her wall. The whole project for about 8 pictures was under $20. Hope that helps!

Ohhh I love this type of stuff. I have a boy so I can't decorate with any girly stuff.

I would start off by painting the walls a Nice color that will grow with your daughter (she's not always going to want princesses on her walls) I found wall "stickers" here is a Link Here is one of those bed canopy it's like $6 bucks with shipping Link Maybe you can do a solid comforter and get princess sheets that way you can get different ones, belle, ariel etc.

I had so much fun decorating my son's room when he was an infant I put up winnie the pooh border which took me 2 months to find just the right one. I'm dreading the day when he tells me he doesn't like it anymore. Next time I think I'm going to skip on the board and just use accents.

Good luck and have fun :D

The whole pkg cost about 8.50. Try ebay, DS, Kmart for sales on the bedding. You can pick up smaller items piecemeal and just get coordinating material for curtains, area rug, etc. That way, it will be easier to redecorate when the time comes. Your DD may wish to keep some of the items!

We pained our daughters' rooms with paint from Home Depot Disney collection. They have many colors and cards to give you ideas on paint jobs. (as well as stampers). We ended up using Tinkerbell colors and the rooms came out awesome.

You can find Princess things at most of the discount stores now. You could reproduce the crown thing the Disney catalog sells as well, my girlfriend made one from that heavy board stuff (can not think of the name) painted it with sparkles and it looks great.

We also have a princess room in the planning. We bought plain pink and purple bedding, And a princess fleece throw. I also snagged some Disney princess shams on sale at walmart for like $5 (?) I took a coloring book and transfered the princess of choice onto transparency plastics at our local copy store, and borrowed an overhead projector from our church. This made it very easy for me to trace the picture onto the wall. I then just filled in the picture with acrylics. EASY.. looks professional and youd never know it was little ole me who did it!

I also bought a big flower rug from walmart. Looks very feminine. Pretty pretty!

Check Target. I saw some sheets, pillows as well as some other things like snowglobes & coin banks that were a lot cheaper than through Disney...
