Has anyone done it? How about the pasta in the park? Any reviews with pictures? I know it can vary but would love to see what some have experienced in the past. Thanks

It's being discussed in the Princess thread in the WISH forum here.

DS and I did breakfast for the 5k for the January events and it was not worth it to us. As for pasta, I have to be careful pre-race bc my stomach is touchy, so I won't do the parties. I need to know what I'm eating ahead of time.

is it being discussed in the official thread or is there another?

As for the Pasta in the Park, I have done it several times and thought it was fun and tasty. I enjoyed the Princess Pasta dinners the most. I've also done Avengers and Marathon dinners. The food is buffet style with pasta, chicken, veggies, and salad. There is also a cash bar. You choose what and how much you want to eat. For the Princess, I have chosen the party that is on Friday night because I didn't want to do it the night before the race. Now that I will be doing the Glass Slipper, I will be skipping the party because I need to be relaxing and sleeping early the night before the race. If you have a chance to do it on a night that you won't be racing the next day I think it would be a fun thing for you to do at least once. Great decorations, great DJ, great photo ops (they will use your camera), great dancing, and great energy in the room. You will meet other people and make friends. If this is your first Princess, you will get tips and encouragement from the people you sit with. I really appreciated that on my first race. Also, you will have reserved seating area for Illuminations which is very nice.

As for the breakfast, I have done it once after the Princess 5K. Not worth it for me. If you are real fast, you will get there early while there are plenty of clean places to sit. Because I was slow, there were very few places to sit and the tables were trashed by the previous diners. No way that the staff could keep up with all the slobs. I noticed that there were a lot more spectators than runners and they tended to sit there much longer because they were waiting for runners and just visiting with family/friends. Again, if you are fast, you won't experience much of a problem. The food was just okay. There were some characters (I think) but the lines were really long.

Another tip for breakfast: Don't make the mistake I made at my first Princess. I knew the race started at 5:30 and I knew approximately how long it would realistically take me to finish. I added how long I thought it would take to get back to the hotel and change clothes. Using those estimates, I made a reservation for Kona Cafe for breakfast. Boy, was I off!!!! I didn't realize that my corral would start at about 6:30!! Then it takes a really long time to make it from the finish line to the LONG bus lines. Totally missed the breakfast reservation. Thankfully that was a long time ago before they started charging for missed reservations. So unless you are really confident about when you will start, etc, skip table service breakfast. Save it for the next day when you have more control over your schedule.

Good luck and have fun with 28,000 of your new best friends!
