Disney Prices to Increase

What is the Disney Vacation Club Member Tourist Charter ticket?

I've never heard of this ticket. I am a DVC member.

This was my thought too. Hmm...

When we booked I thought there was something in the fine print that stated that until your vacation is paid in full, prices are subject to change. Glad I paid in full already.

Terms and Conditions
Effective for arrivals January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011.

Prices

All prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change until package is paid in full. After package is paid in full, package price is subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities. If air transportation is included in the package, the airfare is not guaranteed until paid in full and the tickets are issued.

I just contacted Disney and confirmed with two different agents, that any existing reservations booked (even if not paid in full yet) will not be affected by the price increase. I was a little nervous as we have a pkg booked for October with a deposit but I hadn't paid it off yet and don't plan to until August so now I don't have to worry!:)

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to take a look at the AP renewal price.
DVC AP renewal price is $377.01
DVC AP new price is $424.94

Both of these prices include tax. I just renewed mine because of the increase scheduled for tomorrow. (Sunday). The CM did not know what the price of the AP would increase to.

This is for a regular AP, not a premium.

A Charter Passholder is a person who bought their first Annual Pass in the year that APs were first offered (early 80's) and renewed every year since. There are two ways now to get added as a Charter Passholder; one is to marry one and get the AP within a year of the marriage, the other is to be the child of a Charter Passholder and get one prior to turning four years old (birth certificate showing age and relationship required).

And if a person does not renew within 30 days of expiration, the Charter status lapses.

Anyone know if the MNSSHP prices will go up too?
No. MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets are not affected by the general increase.

Honestly, I could call back & ask about what you see written that others have posted here.

When I was just on the phone with the CM & told her I was renewing my AP because I knew prices were going up. I also asked how it would be handled because I'm leaving for Disney on June 24 & my AP's are good through July 11. I won't be back until October.

I wanted to know if the AP I have in hand right now would no longer be valid & if I should use the new one.

She originally told me the AP wouldn't be activated until I redeemed my voucher. I had to reexplain my scenario/question until she understood. My new AP will start on July 11, 2011, just like I thought, but wanted to confirm.
