Disney Premiere Pass Questions!!?

Hello all!

I am new to this board because I have some questions regarding the planning of upcoming Disney family vacations, any help is greatly appreciated!

My wife and I live in Phoenix, AZ and we bought the Disneyland Signature Plus annual pass back in April 2018, started using it May 27, 2018 giving us till next May 27th to use for unlimited visits to DL. My family is planning a big trip to Disney World now for mid-March 2019. Had I known about the Disney Premier Pass at the time I would’ve spent the extra couple hundred per pass and bought that. I don’t really want to spend another $1000 on 7-Day park hoppers for WDW if I could just upgrade the DL AP to the Disney Premiere Pass for less. I know the Disney Premiere Pass says you have to purchase it in person at the specified locations, but since we are DL AP is it possible to upgrade it over the phone since we live in Arizona and cannot easily travel to one of the parks to buy the Disney Premiere Pass? Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go about this? I’d rather plan it out then show up the first day of our WDW trip to buy the Premiere Pass since I hear the magic wrist band requires shipping and linking account issues, etc... HELP! Whether you upgrade before your trip or during your trip, your MagicBands will always provide the link to any linked ticket media and to FPs.

Link your Annual Passes to your My Disney Experience account. Then call Ticketing and ask to do the upgrade so you can book WDW FPs prior to your trip.

I don’t think you can upgrade to premier on the phone. You could try. Looks like hiro feels you’ll be successful.

The only issue I see is that if you can’t upgrade until you’re there you won’t get to do FP+ until you’re there and upgraded.

If you have an on-site reservation you’ll get magicbands. Those are attached to your MyDisneyExperience account, and any admission attached to your MDE should be accessed by the bands.

I was under the impression from things I read was that the magic bands were something you couldn’t get on the spot at the resorts/parks but something that was mailed to you once you bought an AP for WDW.

You are right in that it may not link to MDX because it’s a DL pass.

@stefara - Call Ticketing at DL to ask about upgrading. Or, wait a month or so to see what happens with WDW ticket restructuring and it’s affect on MDX. You have until January to figure out how you’ll be able to upgrade.

Thanks, I’m definitely going to call tomorrow to see what my options are.

If/when you upgrade, your pass is only going to be good til May. So you might consider getting WDW annual passes and then at your next DLR trip, upgrade those to premiere. Then get another WDW trip out of it!

As far as I know you have to purchase the Premier Pass in person, that's what I've always been told. DL seems to handle the Premier Passport purchase better than WDW in my experience but I haven't had a Premier pass in years. If you are staying on Disney property you get a MB with your hotel stay. You can't link a regular DL AP to WDW's MDE. Good luck tomorrow.
