The one that you can only use to send in disney

Does anyone have or used one of these??

Can you order them before you go and top it up from the uk or do you load it up when you get there

It sounds like you are referring to the Disney Gift Cards. You have to buy them there. I can't remember if you can top them up at your resort consierge, but it is just as easy to buy another one when you have spent all you have on the one. It is just like a high street gift card but you can choose how much you want to put on it, i.e. you aren't limited to a $5,10,25.... etc.

I tend to buy one of the ones they sell at the water parks.Thet are a little card that you put around your wrist on a bracelet.Saves carrying cash and cards about BUT I also bought one of the card holders that you put around your neck so when on DDP or visa card can carry on you and they dont get wet at all.Like tiggs says you have to buy them there and load them as and when. I am going to get DD one as she likes using my Visa card toooo much:lmao::rotfl2: along with her own DDollars.:lovestruc

You will be able to get the wrist ones at Epcot during the F&W. :)

I can't find your post about how to take your DD's money. I was going to respond this morning but it got pretty hectic. I have given DD her own money when she was 6 and then last year when she was 7, but I did it 'safely'. I highly recommend giving them their own budget so if you want some ideas, just shout. Maybe you can point me in the right direction. :goodvibes

2Tiggies where can you get the F & W ones at Epcot ? i am getting one of those for there.

By the way when did you get your tags ??? Has the tag fairy been again???

:thumbsup2 Well I took her shopping the other week with her own money and I saw a pen I liked which was in the sale for 5op. Charlotte said mommy you owe me 50p for the pen:rotfl:after I had just spent £35 in build a bear. So sweet. They have no idea. She is so generous really.Just made me laugh.
How much do you give DD each day. She has about $300 of her own. I am hoping her dad will give her some to take and I know after the initial first to every park I can reduce it down. Do you put it in envelopes???At universal for 5 nights doing IOA,US and seaworld. Tips would be great.

Sorry for taking over your thread.Hope we answered your querey.

Never thought about getting one for the parks.Ptobably a good idea.Saves taking cash out.

Good tip about F&W tiggs.First time doing this.

I think you should be able to purchase them from any of the shops in the park that sell them. I have heard you can get them from the food booths :confused3 but I have no idea about that. I have never used them as I use the dining plan so I don't know. There is a sticky on the restaurants board about the IFWF and I wonder if someone has posted something on there - it's bound to be posted sooner or later!

Oh the tags appeared about 2 weeks or so back (I think). I never even noticed until someone pointed it out to me :rotfl2:

thankx, thought the tags were new as I hadn't noticed them.

.

I don't give her a daily amount. She gets spending money for the trip, some of which she has saved herself. I have found $250 to be more than enough.

Previously I gave her home made money, like vouchers. She got to carry it all. When she bought something she traded her 'voucher' and I handed over the real money. Change went into a separate little pocket in the purse.

Last year I skipped the vouchers and we had a little note book. She helped me add up her receipts every night with a little calculator and we kept a tab of the running balance.

What is amazing with this is the amount of thought that suddenly goes into a purchase. She would see something she liked and it was 20 questions, seeking advice as to whether it was a good buy, waste of money, if she might get it cheaper or better elsewhere. A lot of the time she would get me to make a note of the place she had seen an item and we would stop on exiting the park or wherever we were if she had decided to buy it.

I did buy her things here and there, but mostly clothing and shoes. Very little from the parks and resorts, save for a few gifts. It gives them an appreciation of the fact that money is not bottomless. You have to stretch it if you want to buy a lot and sometimes it involves choices. Throughout our last trip she was constantly thanking me for the lovely trip and I even had to 'hide' :rotfl2: while she purchased me some chocolates with her own money as a thank you. I found it gave her a more realistic approach to money. I may do the home made vouchers again as I do think she would benefit from being responsible for her own 'money', but then when she has real money in her purse, she asks me to keep it safe for her so I suppose that is pretty responsible too.

That is so lovely she bought you chocolates (I'd have been tearing up whilst pretending to hide!)

It was hard not to. :) She kept telling me to turn around and Don't look! Then she would ask me about prices, like 'Is dollar 7 dot 95 all my money?' :littleangel: And the look on her wee face when she presented the bag to me, eyes shining and a great big smile ..... oh, that just melted my heart!
