Disney pool slides

We will be staying at CSR for the first time and my four year old is a little timid. She is nervous going down slides, especially water slides.

Will I be allowed to go down with her sitting in front of me? At Great Wolf Lodge they don't allow two people on the slides at once, so I was wondering what the Disney policy is.

No, only one person can go down the slide at a time. She can wear a life jacket down the slide. The lifeguards probably won't let you stay at the bottom to catch her, but you should be able to stay in the general area of the slide (off to the side a little).

My kids love the CSR slide!

They will often let you slide down first, then remain there to catch your child. We usually discuss this first with the lifeguard - our twins have been using the slides since they were 2-years-old.

Cheers,

Agree.. You should be fine to meet her at the end of the slide, but as soon as you catch her, you have to swim away. They want the end of the slide to be clear so the next person can slide down. :)

They will let you wait at the bottom, my two year old did the slide at CSR many times last year with no problems. The life guard may ask you to stand a little to the side as a precaution. A lady had a tooth knocked out one year when a man came down the side and she was waiting in front of the slide. His foot hit her mouth and she was knocked unconscious. This happened at CSR.
For what it's worth the slide at POFQ is far tamer.

The life guards are supposed to tell you not to wait at the bottom of the slide; some do, some don't. But either way...if a child is not confident and can't swim really well they shouldn't be doing slides.

Everyone is giving you a little bit different advice. We never had a problem waiting at the bottom of the slide and a little off to the side to catch our little one. She has been going down the pool slides since she was 2 and no she is not an olympic swimmer....most of the kids aren't.

As a PP mentioned, talk to the lifeguard before attempting and see what is allowed.

Our experience has been different. No waiting at the bottom of the slide to catch a kid. They have to swim away by themselves and you can get somewhat close, but not close enough to catch them.

We had our three y/o GS at POFQ Feb 4th-11th (so fairly recently). There were a couple of parents who tried to go down with their kids and the lifegards told them the child had to go down the slide by themselves, that they were not allowed to slide down with the child. They did let us stand at the bottom (not directly in front of the slide, but off to the side). My GS loves water, can swim some, but is not a strong swimmer. He wore a lifevest. He was funny, because the slide at POFQ sort of curves and just as he hit the curve, every single time he'd be yelling "Catch me Nana, catch me Nana!" Even with all the other pool noise, there was no way I couldn't hear him, before I even saw him.:rotfl: I had plenty of time to get over to the bottom to catch him.:rotfl: We used the pool every single day we were there and he loved that slide, going down it probably 20 times a day. Not once did the lifeguard watching the slide allow a parent to come down the slide with a child, nor did he allow one to stand directly at the bottom of the slide, until that adult's child was coming down.

I was at CSR May 4th-12th and saw the same thing over there. Kids had to slide down by themselves, but parents were able to stand off to the side to assist the kid once they hit the water.
