Disney Plus not showing up LG Smart tv

I had a TV that had tha problem when the effect first came out. It was annoying. It had been the default and you had to know to change it or things looked weird.

It's OK for watching sports, but the default "look" for most sports video is already an oversaturated appearance. The benefit is supposedly when there's fast action it reduces some of the ghosting or blurring of the action. Some call it motion smoothing.

The first time I ever noticed it was at a Costco looking at one of the demo TVs. They were showing one of the Spider Man movies and it just looked weird.

I thought I'd add to this since it's the only smart TV thread on here. I guess the really annoying thing is using the remote for everything, including trying to "type" using a key selection and the

I had a USB keyboard (can't find it) but I do have several wireless USB mice with USB receivers. I'd tried plugging it into the USB port (primarily for adding USB storage, but I experimented and found it worked with a keyboard) on an old Blu-Ray player to be able to type things into search rather than peck through using the remote.

I plugged in the mouse into the USB port on my new TV and I was able to use it to navigate the web browser feature. It was painful to use with the arrow buttons on the remote. I'm pretty sure a keyboard would work, but when I tried to use a USB hub with my mouse it wouldn't work so something like separate keyboard and mouse with two receivers and a hub probably won't work.

However, the thing I'd really like to do is just type when I need to search in one of the apps, rather than hunting through the virtual keyboard. I'm thinking of getting a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo (with a single receiver), although I'm not sure if it will work on the TV. No reason why it shouldn't. Not sure it's going to work with every app (I've heard somewhere it has to be enable by the app developer), but I guess if I want to use my new TV to browse the web it looks like that app will work with a mouse and keyboard.

Just one thing to note is that I couldn't quite figure out why I had what some refer to as the "soap opera effect" where the picture looks somewhat overly saturated like you see on programs shot on traditional video. Even modern HD recordings of soap operas deliberately look like that. I've seen demo TVs and that's usually the default setting although I rather like my movies to look similar to how they would look in a movie theater.

Apparently this is a standard interpolation used to help up convert video to 4K and to help smooth things out. In my new TV it's called the "Picture Clarity" setting. When I turned it off everything started looking like I would expect.

Yes, all that motion smoothing junk should be truned off (or at least to low) on new TVs. It makes things look terrible and will cause input lag with video games. The only thing it is good for is sports, but really sports looks fine without it. Different TVs have different names for the settings. Turn them off!
