I am curious if anyone has Disney Golf or Kingdom of Hearts for the PS2 and if they like the games or not. Good choices for 8 yr old boy?

Kingdom Hearts is a very fun game! Not sure how an 8yo would do with it, though. Probly just fine. :)

My DD is 7 and loves Kingdom of hearts!! We got it about a month ago! Its prettty hard but she is enjoying it!!

I've heard nothing but positive reviews of Kingdom Hearts! As I was buying it for my sons, people behind me, as well as to the side of me commented on how great it was!

I had a hard time finding it though, places like Target, Best Buy and Toys 'R Us didn't have it. I found it at Babbage's in the mall.

I ordered one from Disney online over a month ago, and it STILL hasn't come.

I did find the Disney coasters game for the PC at Target, tho... :teeth:

DS loves Kingdom Hearts. Just make sure you buy the strategy guide for it!

TC:cool:

My DH and DS who's 5, have been playing Kingdom Hearts for about a month now. They love it!

Oh! What is this?

It's like Roller Coaster Tycoon, except you get to build the Disney coasters - Big Thunder is pictured on the cover - looks way cool! My boys may have a rough time getting to play it! ;)

Target had them on sale for $9.99 - I think that price is still good today, IF they have any left. Check your Target flyer and see how long the price is good...if Target has none left and the sale was a two-day sale price, bring the flyer to KMart, since they price match.

Good luck! :)

Actually Cookie, that Disney Coaster game has been out for a long time. I showed that Target flier to my DH, and he says he remembers playing Disney Coaster pre Roller Coaster Tycoon 1.

Basically, what I am saying is that the Disney Coaster game was out when we lived in Ohio. We lived in Ohio from 1994 to 1997.
So at most its an 8 year old game, or a five year old game.

Now if they updated it and put Rock n Roller coaster in it, great.. but I asked my DH about it, and we wound up going with RCT (Rollet Coaster Tycoon 2) for my son.

Hmmm...not sure if it's updated or not - I do know that it was flying off the shelves, and one woman said she looked in another store and they were sold out.

That led me to believe it was a newer game...or a newer version. Since someone else is holding it for me, I can't look at it to see. But hey - it's new for us - that's all that matters! :teeth:

There are two versions of a Coaster game out by Disney. The original version is called Ultimate Ride Coaster. This is the one Cindy is referring to. Whiel this game was developed by Disney, there are no Disney environments, themes, or characters.

The second version is a new release and called Disney Coaster. This new version was recently released. It lets you create your own Disney Coaster with environments based on the lands in the Disney parks. Disney props are also available. And the Disney characters will judge your coaster creation. This is the one that CookieGVB just bought at Target.

Actually the old game, called "Coaster" was made by Disney a long time ago. It came on floppy disk, not on Cd as a matter of fact. My kids played it alot. It might have even have beena DOS game! The new one has Disney Charcters in it, as well as the enviornments.

Thanks, you guys, for clearing that up. I feel so much better knowing I didn't just buy something that's eight years old, that other people were hunting for, too. My ex hardly ever knew what he was talking about, either. ;)

I saw Kingdom Hearts at our Target in MN last night. I would have loved to have gotten it but we have the Gamecube and as far as I could tell, they don't make it for that system.

I ended up going out and found Kingdom of Hearts at Walmart. They had the "cheat book" there also so I scooped it up. Thanks for all your great comments!! Anyone play Disney Golf yet? OH there is also that game for game cube called MIckey mIrrors or something like that ?
