Disney/Pixar Cake Challenge On Food Network

That too! I forgot about that. I knew that wasn't going to stand up like that and believe me, I know next to nothing about baking! I know he needed height, but he could have made a cake base and made that door smaller or better yet, made it out of something besides cake. :confused3

 I thought the exact same thing. Why didn't he make a cake base and make the door out of Rice Krispies treats and slant the door a little. Then, it would have stayed up as opposed to slowly falling off. I felt so bad when Sully fell. That man piped on all the hair. :rolleyes1 It took so sooooooooooo long. It was very heart-breaking to see it fall into his arms. Overall, it was very poor planning.

I thought the Toy Story Mania cake was the worst. They spent sooooooo much time on the bed. Yes, the bed was great. But, the characters looked terrible. Poor Woody was slanted and leaned up against the bed.

The cake that came in second was actually falling apart at the seams (A Bug's Life). Flik looked great. But, you could see the tree trunk coming apart when they transferred it to the table. Also, it only had two characters (plus one I didn't even recognize).

:cool1: Personally, I liked the Nemo cake the best. All the characters looked right. Crush was so cute as part of the cake. Very creative. I did agree with the judges that it needed something in the back (more coral or another character). But, out of all the finished cakes it was my favorite.

:thumbsup2 I watch Ace of Cakes too. They make some of the most amazing cakes. Did you see the Hogwarts Castle cake episode. It is truly amazing what they can do with sugar and fondant.
