Disney/Pixar based attractions?

Got a question for you guys....not too sure if this is the right board or not, but I'll give it a try.

So, when Disney makes an attraction based on a Pixar film, is it strictly the decision of Disney? I know they own the licenses to the characters, so does Pixar have no say whats so ever? If Pixar does have input, would that be part of their Marketing department, if not, what department do you think it would be in?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe Pixar has any say in the matter. Pixar does have 50% ownership of the characters, and I'm sure there are many complicated formulas to determine how the revenues are divided on films, merchandise and even theme park attractions. But Disney has final say on the matter.

If Pixar had any voice in these decisions, I think it's safe to say that the following would probably not be happening:
- Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters being constructed at DisneyLand and DisneyLand Paris.
- Monsters Inc. ride rumored imminent at DCA.
- Disney moving forward with their own independently-produced sequels to Toy Story, et. al.

Incidentally, this ownership issue has been one of the big sticking points in contract negotiations between Disney and Pixar. One of the clauses that Pixar wants to insert in a new agreement is that ownership of ALL the characters developed in the existing films (Toy Story, Monsters, etc.) would be handed BACK to Pixar. Frankly, as long as Pixar keeps that topic on the table, I don't blame Disney for their stance in negotiations. I hope these two can come together at some point, but to give up the rights to Buzz, Woody, Mr. Incredible, Nemo, etc. would be a TERRIBLE mistake.
