Is it OK to take Disney Pins through Airport Security on your carry on luggage.

Ive brought my pins to and from Disneyland before 9/11 but haven't been after. Great question. I hope someone with more recent experience can fill us in.

We took ours - they definitely wanted to open the bag to inspect more closely after it went through the x-ray machine - but when they saw what it was - no problems.

Who is into pin trading, and he will definately open just to look at your collection!LOL;)

It's safer to have them with you and we have not experienced a problem travelling with them.

Not a pin trader necessarily, but my grandkids are. I have a question. Bought a Magic pin on cruise with Goofy dangling painting the ship. I think I lost it before I ever even left the ship. Can't find it in my unpacking. Can I get one anywhere else? or is it just available on board?

Unfortunately, the cruise pins are only available on the cruise ship.

or

Forntuately, the cruise pins are only available on the cruise ship and this will give you an excuse to rebook a cruise again!LOL;)

I found my Goofy Magic Pin!!! and a couple of jewelry items, down in a pocket of luggage!!! Yay!!

I was just thinking this question yesterday, I am going on a pin trading cruise in November and figured I am taking about 5 pounds worth of pins...yes I am obessed....lol . I wondered what would happen at security!
I wonder if anyone has any stories about this.

My 2 DD's took their Disney back-pack pin bags as carry-ons this past March. They did need to put them through the scanners and were asked to open them, but other than that, we had no problems.

I was more concerned that they would make you check them....I mean you cant have a nail file, or sissors...and last time I went I was only allowed one lighter:( With the pins I wonder if they consider them weapons.

I display mine on the straps of my camera bag - so they are very obvious.

I just want ot be sure that I won't have a problem.

Both before and after 9/11. I do have a "trading bag" and I watch the x-ray screener as my bag goes through. If he is looking carefully (as he should be that is a lot of metal in one place) I tell him they are pins. Sometimes they one it up and check every pocket, but I figure it is safer with me than with the checked and now unlocked luggage.

Went through airport security last May with a pin bag loaded down on the way back from DL. It went through like 3-4 times before they decided to search it. When I told them it was disney pins they just laughed and let me go. I think also depending on where you are boarding the plane they are probably familiar with pins!

See you on the ship in 7 days!!
