Yes your son would send 2 Disney copyrighted pins, both pins will go to the same person. And than your son will get 2 Disney coyrighted pins from someone.

Some people send other things, others do not. You do not have to send anything other than the pins, if you don't want to.

How can I tell if my pins are Disney copyrighted? I've been buying some from ebay, so I don't know if I've gotten the copyrighted ones or the fakes that someone else mentioned. I'd hate to disappoint someone by sending a pin that wasn't copyrighted. Will I be kicked out if I inadvertently do that?

I would love to take part. I did this for years on the collectors board before I got sick. You should post this on the collectors board too, you might get more responses. I usually had over 100 people take part and I only had to send out 1 or 2 pins to cover the people that either forgot or didn't send a pin. It was so much fun back then bcause so many people were into pins and they would send LE's or rack pins and the people who got an LE were so excited.
You can tell if it is a Disney pin if it has more on the back beside just Disney and the copyright symbol. Most Disney pins either have a Mickey Head with a banner through it that says Disney Pin trading, or in the year 2000 they had the 2000ribbon symbol on the back. These designs are imprinted in raised metal on the back of the pin.
the conterfeit or pins that Disney accepts but not happily just have the word Disney printed or stamped in black ink on the back of the pin.

Does anyone have a picture of these pins? I have bought some on Ebay and wondering if they are in fact real disney pins or as another poster said fakes. I would love to see a picture of the front and back of one if anyone has it. Thanks

I am interested in doing this too. Do I tell you what I have in my collection that I am willing to depart with? Or do I just send anything that is real disney? I saw you requested my "likes" so if you want my likes I assume you will match me with someone that has pins I "like" so I would think you would want my tradeable list??? I would love to do this!! What's the limit?

I'm new to this but I think that the "likes" that you list will be used as a guideline to what someone sends you. Doesn't actually mean that you will get a pin of one of your likes but most people will try to send you one you like. I don't think we are suppose to send a list of pins we have to the OP.

When sign ups are closed the OP will send you a name and all the info of another member and you will mail 2 pins to that person. I don't think there is a limit to how many you can do as long as you send 2 pins to each person you get. My kids are doing this so we are doing 2.

i live in the UK - can I exchange?

Absolutely!!

LMC you just send two pins to the person that you get - I will give you their likes and dislikes just in case you have one of those pins - some people buy the pins so if they have your likes - it can help them choose!

As for fake vs. real pins - the only ones that people really seem to have a problem are sedesma pins - these are a very lightweight quality and the front looks

they say disney and sedesma on the back of them.

I found this quote from a Disney CM about them:

the biggest way you can tell the difference in these pins is that you will see a black border around them, not gold. (The back will be black as well.) And they are much thinner & lighter feeling...because they are plastic. They are often somewhat smaller than normal pins

Basically, they are horrible quality...they don't feel or look as quality as the REAL pins, so if you see/feel one that is light & plasticky, you probably know it's not tradeable. They don't have a nice gloss on them like normal Disney pins, either.

Ryka - you are right on about how it works!! :thumbsup2

here are some sedesma pins

can you see how the black lines are raised? In my experience they don't have the smooth feeling disney pins have -
