HI
I just wondered if anyone else was into pin trading or pin collecting. I am new to the pin world as we have only just purchased lanyards to keep our annual passes in, and I wondered how people decide which pins to collect as there are so many out there. I started with a pirates of the caribbean one, as it is my favourite ride, and I have a WDW 2005 one from Florida this year, but now I don't know what to collect next. I was wanting a DLP 2005 one, but couldn't find any out there, and I would have liked a halloween 2005 one, but again couldn't find any. Does anyone know if DLP issue any dated pins such as this? The kids are going to collect Stitch pins (DS) and Princesses (DD), but I don't know what to "specialise" in. :confused3 What does everyone else do?

Our troop all pin trade. They have no particular likes and at times their trades are :confused3 but it keeps them happy and the interaction with CM's is very good :)

I enjoy collecting ones from the different hotels we have stayed in.

This is a very difficult question. I think you evolve into a collection. I started out with the idea that I would just collect pins I liked. As you collect you begin to group the pins together and that is how you form a collection. To see more about pins try www.dizpins.com they have a great site that is updated daily.

I have a train collection, an old eurodisney pins collection I am like the person who is collecting hotels collecting hotels and rides and shops form DLRP. The new stitch collection is looking good. As you can see this is a hobby that can easily get out of control.

Have fun and enjoy it.

Okay, here is my story :rotfl2:
Got the first pins when at WDW as a memory. (1 from each park, from the hotel and the RNRC)
When they start pintrading at DLRP I thought buying the pins from the hotels we slept in and the rides we did....and some nice :goodvibes one.
In 2003 we bought our first AP and went frequently and I thought it would be nice to collect the "Train" and all the DLPR Pins. During this time I got in contact with other traders found some friends and we attent the pinevents and PTN when we had time.
Now I have my focus on:
1. Sorcerer pins
2. Pins showing Walt
3. Couples (Dancing/hugging)
4. Eventpins
5. the one I really like

you can see my collections and traders when entering *Renate* at
http://www.pinpics.com/
and choose "my Pinpics"
I just found out that I have 706 pins (dont tell DH :rolleyes1 ) in my collection and at least 97 traders (without counting the doubles)

Really did not thought that it will "grow" that way :earboy2:

Oh my word Renate, how many!!! 706 pins!!! Makes my 2 look a bit sad doesn't it. Hopefully will buy a couple more when we go in December...hope to find a Christmas 2005 one (if they do one). Do you buy all yours from the parks then, or do you buy form Ebay etc.

Hi,

look at the official DLRP page there you will find the releases of December.
I buy them either in the parks, sometimes on ebay or I ask frieds who are there to get one for me.
And I trade on pinpics from time to time.

I buy one from each resort I have stayed at (both DLP & WDW) and a few other random ones that catch my eye :)

Oh I collect all the DVC LE pins as well :)

I am pleased to say I am not as hooked as you Renate but I think I have not been collecting for as long.
Is anyone going to the pin trading event in december?

No we are not going as we are at eqypt from 22.11.-06.12. and going to DLRP for christmas eve and new years :goodvibes

Hi!
How much do the pins cost roughly? And what about lanyards?
I was at Disneyland last year, and was going to buy some pins, but got side-tracked at the snowglobes and ran out of money! I regret that now...
But I can get them at DLRP! :Pinkbounc

if you buy them in the park they cost 6 to 12 euros if you buy them on the resale market they tend to be cheaper. but for DLRP to trade they must not be sedesma or propins.

What are sedesma and propins?
I had a bit of a spending frenzy last night on Ebay and bought a few pins.....hope I didn't buy the wrong ones!

Hi,

WDW pins are very welcome at DLRP. Propin and Sedesma are companies that produce licenced pins. They have the (c) Disney on the back but are refused by some CM at DLRP.

Greets Renate :wizard:

They have Sedesma or propins printed on the back. We bought sedesma pins to start with and I still have loads at home as I couldnt trade them at all.
If you have bought them from someone in Spain they are almost certainly Sedesma. Ask the person you bought them from.
