Disney Pin Bag and "A Goebel Celebration"

Just got my pin bag from the Disney catalog and it is great. But what are the mesh, zippered pouches in between the pin pages? Are they for the cards that the pins come on?

Putting my pins in my bag I came across one I have no idea where I got it or what it is from. It says"

A GOEBEL CELEBRATION
April 14-16, 2000
Walt Disney World

Above it is Mickey and Pluto.

The mesh and zippered pouches are for whatever you want to use them for -- the cards, extra pin backs, extra traders, etc.

Is this the Goebel pin you have? It's a LE but not in very high demand.

I am not really interested in putting value on my pins. Most of them have a special meaning to me/us and our Disney trips.

So what is a Goebel?

I think it might have been a special pin that you had to go to Germany and purchase. You actully had to ask for it and it was not on display.

That is all I know, except that I really like the pin.

Goebel is a company that creates small sculptures that are in very high demand among collectors. They sell the sculptures in the Germany pavilion. Next time you're there take a look. They are very nice. Goebel also does sculptures of Disney characters and they had a special event, like the Teddy Bear and Doll Convention, where Goebel collectors were invited to Disney and given the opportunity to purchase new pieces.

In April 2000, they had the equivalent of a public day when people who did not attend the special event were allowed to purchase the pin. Hundreds of us ran around World Showcase to stand in line for the pin...only to find it still available for purchase months later - if you knew to ask for it.

Despite that, I think that the Goebel pin is one of the nicest pins ever sold. I love mine.
