what are some must have picture ops that you have taken at disney or wish you had? looks like we'll be going in May . me, dh, and dd will be 4.

Hi, and Welcome to the boards!!:goodvibes. That's a hard question, but you have a DD who is 4, so I would assume she loves:love: anything princess and in addition all the Characters?? You want to make sure she get pic's w/ her favorite princesses. Are you or have you considered any character breakfast/lunch or dinners? You will get great pic's at those more one on one. Hit Toon Town they have the Characters (inside), where you can get great pic's they also take ones you can purchase. There you don't have to worry that you will be in line w/your litte one and Mickey or Snow White has to go in right before you DD gets to see her:scared1:, been there, it's hard to explain to a little one that they were one short in line to meet one of there fav's. Anyway, welcome again, our first trip was w/ DD when she was 4, it really is magical:wizard:, just ask away you will get ton's & then some of suggestions:) .

oh, if you want you can also check the community board. There is a thread over there called thread killers unite, title under it was started by magiKitty, we just got moved the other day after the upgrade there:confused3. We use to be on this board, but they said it was time to move (I guess it's a compliment?) but we like it here, since we were all new once and went on threads that we had no replies to, so if you get a chance check it out lot's of trip reports, many or most w/kids so you can ask away about places, people to see:3dglasses. The CB you sometimes have to scroll down the page or the next to find us, since people post (I think every 10 sec.) so it's not like here that anything posted in one day you see right up front:thumbsup2.

Welcome to the Dis!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :woohoo:

Hmmmm...good picture ops. I have always thought it was cute to get the kids eating the mickey bar...toward the end after their face has gotten all messy.

My DD and DS have always liked to go get "hat pics" go in the giftshops and while trying on hats snap a picture. It is realy fun. :goodvibes

For some reason I can't think of anymore, but you have come to the right place for sure.

:welcome: mickeyfan83 :wave2:

I'm also a member of the "thread killers united" thread. Would like to welcome you to the disboards and and extend the offer to check out our thread.

To answer your question, there are the obvious photo ops with the castle, Spaceship Earth, etc. And in Toontown, like disney54us, talked about. One tip I can offer about the photo ops in Toontown is don't just take the posed photo. As soon as it's your DD turn, start snapping away. Some of my best photos are of my DDs just talking away with the princesses. You can see the pure joy on their faces that they actually are talking to Cinderella, Belle, etc.

Another suggestion I've seen on these boards is if you plan on returning for another Disney vacation is to pick one spot and take a photo of your DD. Then on subsequent vacaton, return to the same spot for the same photo. You'll end up with a bunch of through the years photos.

Well, I'm going to go look through all my vacation photos now. If I find any with a specific spot to look for, I'll be back to let you know. And if you have more questions, I'll be glad to answer if I can.

Thanks. DD is very excited. She wants to see everyone! lol. we have 2 character meals booked. mickey and princess. after reading the reviews i told hubby i want him to pay for BBB for her birthday present. we will be going a few weeks after she turns 4 and asking for disney money for her birthday (hopefully peole will understand that this trip breaks the bank and will be supportive). I am just as excited i think. DH is more into universal but we're going to book with AAA for their janurary special vs waiting a few years and doing it all. well i am glad i found this board and i will try to find the other one u mentioned.

I have two favorite spots for photo ops near Cinderella's castle. (Added bonus: Because they're tucked away, you actually stand a chance of getting a good picture without 1,000 passersby in the middle of your shot. :thumbsup2 )

1. To the right of the castle, there's a bridge that leads toward the Fairytale Garden and Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. I snapped a cute picture of my DD standing on that bridge and gazing up at the castle in her Snow White dress. (Sometimes a PhotoPass photographer is stationed there to take family photos.)

2. If you hook left at the end of that bridge and continue on the path that leads past the Fairytale Garden (and behind the castle), you'll stumble upon a wishing well. If you frame the shot right, you can get a photo of your family posing near the wishing well with part of the castle in the background.

Wow! I'm terrible with directions. (I hope that made sense...) ;)

-------

The International Flower & Garden Festival will be taking place in Epcot while you're there in May. That should provide some vibrant backgrounds for photos. There are topiaries shaped like Disney characters, and I read that there's a butterfly garden, too.

-------

Don't forget to simply snap photos of the details, such as seasonal decorations and Hidden Mickeys.

-------

Oh, and I totally agree with the previous poster, who suggested that you take plenty of candid photos of your DD interacting with the characters -- not just the posed ones!

Happy planning! 'Hope this helps! :)
