Disney Picture of the Day Thread - February 1, 2010

I'm going to disagree with you to an extent. My personal philosophy is that there are a LOT of people who are better photographers than I am. If I want a picture of Spaceship Earth or Cinderella's Castle, there are those of you who know your camera settings and vantage points and best times of day for taking a picture a lot better than I do. Your pictures will be better than mine. I can still try for that awesome shot, but what makes most of my pictures special and different from what I could simply buy in a postcard store is the inclusion of the people that I love. Or, you know, a bunch of strangers. ("Is this you?" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1828742)

One of my favorites from last month, DD as the "Dreams Come True" started right after we got to MK for the first day of our trip:

Certainly not the best composition. Would have changed the ... whatchamacallit... to blur the background a little more if I knew how and had time. But I would have missed the moment.

I agree a 100%!! Take the shots of family when you can. As much as I love taking static shots at Disney the ones with my family all ways put a smile on my face. Though I don't post family shots here that much I do still enjoy them!!

In fact here is one for today. DD on the boat to POR....

Hey what happened, if it wasn't for your name on the post I would have never known this was your shot..... It seems to bright for you. Your pics are always a little on the darker side, something I always enjoyed. :goodvibes Great pic btw.

Hey! You guys are all twisting my words! It's a conspiracy! Off with their heads! My brilliance is wasted on the masses...

I never said don't take pictures of people.

:yay:

^ I LOVE this !

"Let the surroundings tell a story"

...Such as why Grandpa is in a 3-piece suit in the middle of the day....

Hehehee... cause even as late as that, 1973, there was an 'understood' dress code!

:)

Nah, I get what you're saying and the brochure you posted demonstrates it perfectly. I am just saying that y'all are MUCH better photographers than I will ever be, so I will leave the pretty, pretty scenery pictures to you.

The Big Day for us!!!!!

Figment! Is that another 13 minutes exposure? Hehehee... I like this one! More effective as an image than the Illuminations one I think- this could be a poster... back in the 60's... ya know? hehehehee... Nice shot!

Just went to Flicker... had to check carefully. Congratulations! Best wishes for all good things!

Just wanted to pop in and say that this thread makes the most excited for WDW- more than any other topic! I love seeing all these shots. Puts me right there in a second. A virtual vacation. ;)
