I'm not Steff, but I can answer your question... that's the back of the arena for the Lights, Motors, Action stunt show.

I know we're only supposed to post one pic a day, but I've missed a few days and I told Joe that I'd post one of rope drop.

The first one is just as the train pulls up to the station. Everybody knows that the opening is now moments away as we've been told that the park can't open until Mickey arrives from Toon Town.

This second one is Mickey and friends getting off the train and welcoming everybody to the Magic Kingdom and another magical day.

I'm thirty years old. I've been to Disney many, many times and this moment still managed to give me goosebumps. It was the first day of our trip, and I can't think of a better way to start it. As we walked under the station, my brother and I saw Mickey and Minnie coming down from the train station.

Wow, great photos! Yes I'll now have to see that for sure next time. Now I'll have something to look forward to... Sounds just as cool as I pictured it...

PS - I know MK has one and AK has one (rope drops), but do Epcot and Studios do anything for their daily opening??

I thought MGM had a little ceremony, but they just announced that it was open over the loudspeaker and everybody went wherever they wanted to go. I never made it early enough to EPCOT to find out. I wanted to see AK's rope drop, but the day I had planned to do it, we went to MK for rope drop so my mom could see it.

I'm glad you liked the pics. There is other stuff they do there too, so it is well worth checking out. The buzz in the air when the train pulls up and Mickey gets out is great.

This picture was taken on the evening of our arrival this past August. We had checked into the AKL earlier that morning, had spent the day at DTD, and had just had our first dinner on property at the incomparable Boma. We decided to bus over to EPCOT (my favorite park ) to catch that evening's showing of Illuminations (our first-ever experience seeing a Disney nighttime spectacular), and, as DW and I crossed the bridge into World Showcase, I snapped this particular picture. Looking at it now brings back a flood of memories, and builds my anticipation for our next trip to the World in October 2007.
