Disney photography and Intimates

Hi guys,

Hope you can help with this - we are having an intimate ceremony but would like more than the 12 included photos. I'm interested in the following two packages on disney.com but there's no mention of the number of photos you get for the price. Does anyone know? Has anyone had these packages? What are the photos like?

Oh yeah - has anyone just had the 12 photos? Was it enough? I just think if the guys gonna take 2 hours of photos then 12 won't be a lot at all...

Black & White Add-On Package / Photojournalistic Add-On Package - $325.00*

This photography session allows for you to choose between black and white or Sepia photographs. The album cover is beautifully designed with gold artwork of Cinderella's Castle and reads "Our Disney Memories."

Ariel's Collection - $525.00*

Your Photographer will capture the highlights of your intimate celebration on a digital-format camera. This package is suitable for an elopement style ceremony, and accommodates reprint sizes up to 8x10.

The 12 are NOT enough. The photographer chooses the 12 (you have no say). The usually chose one of the bride alone, one of the groom alone, first dance, cutting of the cake, etc. That is all we got and it is not enough.

I don't know anything about the packages you are looking @, but I would make sure you can choose the pictures you want.

Also, I suggest ordering all of your proofs. If you do it before the ceremony it is only $150-$200...after the prices SORE! Ask your EM about it.

Thanks Megan - i had a feeling we wouldn't pick the photos. I'll find out about the proofs, that way we could get our own printed and not have to worry about any of the packages...

When I spoke to Stephanie at DPS she said that theres no difference between paying for proofs before or after. She couldnt understand why I asked this question!
We decided not to go with DPS and have chosen Randy Chapman. Rosiejo..if you want more info on the package hes offered me feel free to message me. We've found Randy cheaper than DPS. Our wedding is an Intimate too.

I was informed by Stephanie at DPS that you can purchase all proofs up front for $225.00. Most of the posts that I have seen from members using DPS have an average of 125 pictures. Therefore, if you were to purchase 125 pictures, individually through DPS it would easily cost you.. $1,500.00! Yes, each 4x5 picture is $12.00 each, per the Disney On-line Kodak Photo site.

I was told if you ordered the proofs after the wedding, they were $5 each, so we ordered all of them in advance. It was well worth it too! We had so many pics we wanted to take in addition to the standard poses. Well worth the money.
Also, you have the option of buying a high res disc at $1000, but if you can wait two years exactly after your wedding, you can buy it for $99. Big difference.

does anyone know about the quality of the Randy Chapman cd? What is the resolution? Is is good enough to do your own prints? If so, at what size?

I'm waiting two years too. That's just crazy. And what drives me insane is that international brides get the high res for free (from what I understand from these boards). The reasoning, from what I hear, is it costs too much to ship the photo proofs. So it now costs $901 to ship? WOW!
I don't think you can split up the pics, BUT if you decide to go with another photographer, say Randy Chapman, DPS gives you the option to do a honeymoon shoot instead, in one of the parks, in attire outside of your wedding attire. You might want to ask about that too.
With the proofs, you get all 4x6s, no "proof" stamped across them. You also get a low res disc, but that is part of the intimate wedding package.
I need to remember to post my DPS pics to my web site. I'm outside the window to still have mine up on the DPS web site, but if you look on the Disney Wedding Photo thread, there are some posted there from others.

i've booked my add on package direct with DPS (got annoyed with trying to do it through virgin).
stephanie sent me an email with all the packages, we went with minnie's dream package, they take about 100 and give you 40 7x5 photos, but you get all the rest on a high res cd free cos we're from the uk, and you get them sent to your room within 48 hours. i can forward you the email she sent me if you like, if you want it, email me karenangelatan@lycos.co.uk

I just read further down this thread where I discovered that UK brides get the disc for free... odd when you said international I read that to mean US?!?! Must have been half asleep :0)

I did ask Randy for a quote - but now I know the disc is free... hmm may re consider DPS.

So does that mean that as a UK bride I can take my 12 photos and then head home with my high res CD to print as many pics as I want, and not have to worry about paying for prints?
