Disney Photographer for Intimate Wedding?

I read that a Disney Photographer is included in the Intimate wedding package. I know that a lot of the custom wedding brides choose to use an outside photographer.

I was wondering what is actually included in the package for Intimate Weddings. I am a picture/scrapbook crazy person and the wedding pictures are THE MOST IMPORTANT part for me (of course besides getting married to the man I love ;) )

How long do you have the photographer(i think i read 2 hours)? I do plan on trying to do a Wishes cruise, but I would assume I'd just take my own pictures there! I also heard that we won't "own" the pictures for THREE YEARS? Is it the same for intimate weddings? I want lots of pictures!! :goodvibes

As a fellow crazy scrapbooker I can relate to wanting the best pictures! Lots of brides use Randy and from the pictures posted on the boards he does a great job. We used Disney photography and we were thrilled with our pictures :) I understand that Randy gives you a hi-res CD as part of the package price, but other brides can confirm that. We had our Intimate in October and it was under the "old" rules. We had Ty, who was so great! (I like to point out that the picture in my sig was taken by a friend.) Ty took a few pictures before the ceremony of DH and the cake, all during the ceremony, the cake cutting, and for about 1 & 1/2 hours after that in and around the resort. He said he would have done more, but we were just tired at that point, our cheeks hurt from all that smiling! By the time we got home from our honeymoon our pictures were posted on-line by Disney. We got our folio (12 pictures for us but I think now it's increased to 20 pictures for Intimate brides) and low-res CD in the mail a few weeks later. The low-res CD is NOT suitable for making prints, they are very tiny and too grainy to enlarge. You can purchase the hi-res CD of all of your pictures for about $1000 or wait 3 years and purchase the hi-res CD for $99. You can also buy the printed proofs for about $250 if you buy them in advance. It's a lot more cost effective to buy the proofs in advance than afterward when they charge you per-picture. I know 2 professional photographers who do weddings and they say they sell the CD to the couple for $1000 so it is apparently the going rate. If you use Disney photography and if you can afford it, get the hi-res CD and then you can make your own prints.

I hope this is helpful and Best Wishes :goodvibes

We booked Randy for our intimate. The only thing I truely wanted from my wedding were the pictures, so he was well worth any cost to me. He took pictures of me getting ready, at the wedding, after the wedding and at our dinner after (we added 1 extra hour to the package, 4 hours were included). We also added B&W's for an extra $100. I ended up with about 800 pictures. I LOVE all of them, and I hate the way I look in pictures, so that's a huge thing for me. Randy is also very big on photojournalistic picutres, so I have very few pictures of everyone posing most are candid, which everyone who's looked at them has loved. He will do posed if you want but we didn't ask for any specific ones. We also got a High Res cd of ALL of our pictures, included in the package, and I own the rights to the pictures so I don't have to call him for every copy, which is also saving us a ton of money.

Hope this helps.

How much do they charge? I usually charge $500 for 5-hour session, about 200 high-res pic, and I handed them all at the end of the session.

Randy charged $770 for DD, melmel's Intimate Wedding pictures. That included the basic 3 hrs plus on extra hour at the wedding dinner,100 black & white proofs, & 400 color proofs in a nice, white album. The proofs are all good quality,& they don't have PROOF written across them. Plus she got the Hi-res CD with a total of about 800 pictures. You can't beat Randy for price or quality.

The Hi-res CD is included in the $770 price? and how high is the high res? FIles that you can print up to 20"x30", just curious.

I am a picture fanatic! As with many brides, the pictures (and video) were the most important aspects of the wedding. Then too, I went back and forth :confused3 about hiring an outside photographer or just sticking to the package. In the end, I used Disney and was extremely HAPPY and SATISFIED! :cool1:

I can't begin to tell you how wonderful TY was....he did a fabulous job on our pictures. We used the full 2 hours of photography, he took every photo I wanted and then some unique ones too! All in all, we ended up with 125 pictures (which is great for an intimate wedding). So I basically have the 12-print folio, low-res cd and I pre-purchased all the proofs totaling 125 (4x5)pics, of our wedding for $225.00. (Proof is not on any of the pictures).

Although the cd is not good for printing, the actual pics are great for scanning and enlarging.

I will wait the 3-years to purchase the high-res cd.

Oh, we did use Stan from STVS Wedding Videos for our videographer. He was awesome too! Our video was magical.... pixiedust:

Hope this helps. If you would like to see my pics, just pm me.

I don't think I can convince the hubby to do a DFT-VR because of the cost. But I did contact Randy about a family photo session on our 10th anniversary. He said we would get around 80 pics for $250. I thought that was a fabulous price!

What she said!!! Ty did a fabulous job for our intimate wedding and since the "cost" is included in your intimate wedding package...it can't be beat!!!

Randy (and any other outside photographer) was too expensive for me!!!

I'm not sure about Randy's files but when DH shoots weddings and we provide a high res file the couple is able to reproduce images of that size. Hope this helps.

That what confuses me. If a CD fits 800 photos, then they can not be high-res. The largest you can print with that so-called high res is 4x6, or 5x7 if you're okay with blocky JPEG compression.

When I give a high-res CD to my client, the most I can fit is 120 pics (but usually only 98 pics per CD)

I guess nobody can answer my question

I can't help you either, but I just wanted to add that this board doesn't move as quickly as others. You might be surprised to find you'll get an answer in a few days or so! :) ;)

He originally sent me a DVD that held everything, but wasn't working. SO I now have 4 cds to hold all my pics. They are high res, so I can print as large as I like, I've heard up to poster size. So far I've only printed 8x10 and it's beautiful with no pixilation. I know someone else on here mentioned doing a poster sized one but I haven't tried it.

Melissa

That's high enough. You won't be able to print 20" x 30", but how many pics you're going to print that size anyway :)

PS: you definitely can print up to 12" x 16" without seeing any pixelation whatsoever.

Y'all keep raving about Randy, and it got my hopes up so high... but I wrote to him several days ago and have not received any type of response or acknowledgement yet. Do you know if he's out of town or something? Also, Kelly Grannell, are you a photographer there in Orlando, or where do you offer your services? ~Ev

Randy is a great guy but he is very busy and email and snail mail really aren't his thing. However, I have communicated with him entirely by email and even though it takes him a few days he makes sure to get back to me and all my annoying little questions. Just give him a little time. Here's some pixiedust: for a speedy contact

I'm based in Toronto (Canada) but I've been hired to do photography in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, US (so far limited to NYC, Buffalo, Orlando), and of course, Canada itself.

I do photography for products (electronics, food, etc), events (weddings, corporate parties, concerts), headshots, fashion and artistic photography (for stock photos and album covers). The only thing I haven't done is nudity. I don't have an eye for it.
