sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this.. I wasn't sure where it would fit best.

I am just wondering if Disney has some type of payment plan? I know when you book you have to pay a $200 deposit then the rest is due 30 days before check in... but say you book a year out, can you set it up to have monthly withdrawals from your bank account or if it can't be set up automatically, can you make periodic payments? (if so is that through the MDE app?)

There is no automatic payment plan for packages or room-only reservations (note: normal deposit and final payment policies differ between the two). But you can call Disney any time and make a partial payment on your reservation.

As PP mentioned, what you are describing is for a Package. If you book Room Only, you pay for one night when the reservation is made. You don't have to pay anything else prior to check in.

Buying giftcard at a discount..
There is a thread on the budget board.
Samsclub $484 /500 card
47.98 / $50
Target 5% off with redcard
Used from Giftcardwiki ... different amounts. Only buy whole amounts... or they could be Disney store.

That's a great idea! I assume that it worked out?

I've used Disney gift cards from Target to pay for our Disney trips. You need to apply for a Target Redcard. They offer two options. The first one takes money directly from your checking account at time of purchase. No credit check required. The second option is to apply for a Target Reduced that is a credit card (charge card). This option requires a credit check. Just know to save your actual gift cards. Should you need to cancel your refund is given back on gift cards. Disney gift cards can also be used for food, souvenirs and experiences - exception balloon vendors and little carts that roam the parks at night. While I've never run across a store or restaurant at Disney Springs, some may not. Disney gift cards never expire!

I took a screenshot and made it by background on the phone... I scanned my giftcard at all the food places in 2 seconds.
We ran low so I ordered more in the park it took about 30 mins and then added the card disneygiftcard.com to the card I was using.

Great tips, thank you so much. Haven't been for years. Is it smart, then, to buy a $500 gift card through Target, then call WDW on the phone and make a payment to the reservation? Or can I make the payment via the app now? So excited. Retailmenot will also give you back 1% of your purchase via target.com, so you could be getting 6% off altogether, although you do have to wait a few months for retailmenot to paypal you your rebate. :D
