Disney Parks Swap

Quick question guys, would you rather do page kits or elements ? Still working on the detailsso I'm open to suggestions. A few people have said they would like the due date to be later in April. What about the 15th or the 30th, especially if we do kits. Someone else suggested breaking the parks up and during several swaps, maybe concentrating on one park at a time. That may take a lot more work, perhaps we could do Magic Kingdom and MGM and then Epcot and Animal Kingdom . I was thinking more along the lines of park areas ( like the epcot countries, magic kingdom castle, frontiereland, etc ), rather than just characters and rides. I can always use Disney stuff so it doesn't matter one way or the other with me. Will go with whatever the majority likes.

I think if it's geared more towards elements, I'm in. Due date doesn't matter too much for me. By page kits do you mean we make borders, journal boxes, titles, etc for each other??? For me that's so subjective, I would have a hard time doing that, but that's just me..

Page elements mean you choose a specific tag, square, journal box etc.

ex. - lets say #14 people sign up and you choose tags. That would be two tags per person which makes #28 tags.

Page kit means you would do a title and then two other elements ( like choice of 2 tags, 2 journal box, 4 squares, etc ). The number of people in each group would probably be 6.

ex. - You pick Magic Kingdom and want to do Cinderella's Castle. You would do 6 Toppers, and 2 other elements ( lets say the 24 squares and 12 journal boxes ).

The advantage to a element is not as many things to make , but the chance that you may not have coordinating items.

The page kit offers the chance to coordinate several items for a page, and to get back several Coordinated items from others. The disadvantage is its a little more work.

Did that make any sense ?

Cyndi

Although page kits sound good, I like elements better. I don't mind if nothing coordinates because I have so many trips to scrap still. And even if I didn't I could always save for future trips. Besides, I'd hate to miss out on what anyone else makes. And if we do page kits we'd probably be broken into smaller groups.

JMHO,
Robin

Okay, I get it now...if it's the elements, I'm in...I don't think I could do the kit though--

I'll vote for the elements as I think Id like that better just coming up with one thing-

One thing- Are we all going to be given different focuses ie I have Rock n Roller Coaster and someone else has Tower of Terror? just so we all dont end up with 100 things for Star Tours? (Can ya tell Studios is my park :))

I like elements but would like them to be of more popular places at Disney! I would love Meeting Mickey page/or elements, Something to do with the castle and Main street. This to go with all the characters or the parades. BUt I am game for anything. I just would like the due date to be the end of April. I will be away till April 11th and I know I won't start before I get back!~

The birthday swap was so much fun! So, I'd be up for this challenge too. I think, I could go either way with the elements or page kits since, I have a ton to scrap.

Hey everyone, my email is acting wacky so if you have questions please pm me or post here. The majority seems to prefer page elements so that is what we will do. The due date will be April 30th. I have a few more questions and then will post final details before the weekend .

If given a choice would you like to do :

Choice A :

Category 1 : Animal Kingdom/Magic Kingdom
Category 2 : Epcot/MGM

Would you be willing to do a few more tags, squares, borders, etc to accomadate the two parks ? Ex. 4 large tags ( 2 for each park theme you choose ), 2 sets of borders, 4 journal boxes, etc. There would be no more than two people in each section as usual.

or

Choice B :

Category 1: AK
Category 2 : MK
Category 3: Epcot
Category 4: MGM

Same choices , but the usual 2 tags, 2 journal boxes, etc.

Someone else suggested we break down into 4 seperate swaps. More work for me, but I don't mind. We could pace the due dates out over a certain period of time.

I'm really flexible and as I have said before I really want this to be things you will use in your albums, so whatever works for the majority works for me.

By the way, I'm looking forward to this. There are a great group of ladies on this board and they are really talented also. I have always been very happy with whatever I have gotten back.

I'd hate to miss out on any of the parks because of the quantity needed at one time, especially since there seem to be so many of us participating these days. I remember seeing some of the stuff done in the parks swaps last time around and it was all awesome. (I know I'd want it all.) If you decide to break it into one swap per park I'd be willing to host some of them so you won't have to take it all on yourself.

I would love to take part in this swap, Cyndi! Seems like I'll never get caught up on my WDW scrapping, and we have another trip planned for Halloween and the Food & Wine Festival this year.

Either of the choices you offer are good, but I sorta like Option B -- one swap for each park and with staggered deadlines. Whatever you decide, though, is fine with me.

Thanks for offering to do this, again!

Pat

If we get a majority who would like to go with choice B would 60 days out between each park be enough time for everyone if we went with that option ?

Due dates would be :

Magic Kingdom - April 30th
Animal Kingdom - June 30th
Epcot - August 30th
MGM - October 30th

Keep in mind you will be paying postage 4 times. Keep the comments coming. I will decide by late evening. Robin, the one advantage to be a SAHM with adult children is that I have the time to host. I don't see it as a problem, but if I start to feel weighed down I would yell for help. Thanks for the offer.

Wish I knew how to do the poll thing (lol ). Would make this a lot easier.

I am for Page elements and I think Option B would be perfect. I would not have to worry about missing a swap for awhile.

Either is fine by me- The only thing I wonder with spreadin it out so far is would participation stay the same or would we all get a ton of MK stuff but by the time Studios rolls around there would be few people interested?
