I am considering the Disney Parks Premier Passport and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/pros/cons/experiences they would like to share! I live in Northern California, and go to DL at least 2x year, and we are going on a 5 night trip to WDW this year as well.

Thanks!

We live in pa and purchased the premier pass with the DVC discount. We anticipate three trips at 5 days each within the year.

We were concerned we might overlook activities outside the parks in order to justify our purchase but only time will tell.

If you don't buy an annual passport, how much money would you be spending on your tickets to Disneyland and Walt Disney World?
The Premier Passport now costs about $1,630 with sales tax. Based on limited information, it does not sound like a good option for you.

Here's just an example:
A 5-day park WDW park hopper ticket is $527.18.
A 3-day DL park hopper ticket with MaxPass is $360.00. If you do this twice, it will be $720.
So your total spend on individual tickets would be: $1248.18, which is $382.82 less than the cost of a Premier Passport.

I'm not sure how long your DL trips are, but if they're long enough or frequent enough, you might consider buying an DL annual pass. If you can visit within the blockout dates, a DL Deluxe AP is currently $729.

One thing I haven't included in the calculations are the discounts. Free theme park parking. Discounts on merchandise, hotels, and meals. Special access to limited edition collectibles, events, and other perks. Depending on how much you plan to take advantage of these perks, some groups find it worth it to have one person buy an annual pass and share the benefits with everyone. But the value of this varies by person.

We purchased a Premiere Pass during DL's 60th, 3 years ago. The cost was less than it is now and between our DL and WDW plans for that year, it made sense. We are planning a trip to DL again next year (2019). Even though we also have WDW plans in 2019, the increased cost of Premiere did not make sense for us on virtually the same trip / days that we planned 3 years ago. We are planning to keep our APs at WDW and buy park hopper tickets for DL. It's just less expensive. :confused3

I had a Premier pass last year and am getting one for next year since I am now addicted to WDW and live only 45 min away from DLR.

I agree with the costs you need to consider how long your trips are. For me it made sense since I was already going to get Signature level, and the upgrade covered my WDW tickets. The discounts were just bonuses-with photos, dining, merchandise, hotel, extra add-ons (MNSSHP, Wild Africa Trek). Will you be with a larger group that would make Tables in wonderland another good investment? (It didn’t for me since I am usually a solo traveler, even if I eat signature).

For the actual AP, there often end up having tech issues connecting the two parks into one pass. I was unable to get FPS for WDW until I contacted IT (I did that well in advance of my trip). There was also an issue with Maxpass since I upgraded from Signature-Premier, so it didn’t show up automatically with my pass, but IT was able to take care of it too.
