Disney Parks banning junk food!!??

I can't see them "banning" burgers and fries, etc alltogther because alot of people like to eat those items. I agree they should have healtier options and eliminate trans fat, etc.

I try to stay healthy and fit; however, when I am at the World - I do as I please. That is the one time I can eat whatever I want. Burgers, Friends, Mickey Bars, and all!

They are just making things healthier by doing things like removing trans-fats like most fast food restaurants are doing by, for example, using a different cooking oil. So for example, your fries will be a bit healthier but still taste the same.

Personally I welcome this change as I eat at WDW once or twice a week and I'm always looking hard for healthier foods since burgers and fries seem to be the main thing they server everywhere. I love Seasons at Epcot!

Burgers and fries gone??? Just a little drastic dont ya think?

I didn't say that, I said that those items will still be present, they'll just be cooked or formulated differently to remove things like trans-fats.

I hope Disney keeps offering and expanding healthier food items, you know burgets won't go anywhere.

about time. too many people are sueing cause they got "fat" while eating at this place or this place and they are winning. CYA is what i believe

Uh! I didn't think they were banning junk food, but only offering healthier choices.....

In other words, when at a TS or CS you will have a choice between grapes and fries. Grapes will be given to you unless you say you want the fries instead.

As for the rest of the junk food along the streets, like snacks, those aren't going away as far as I know. Dole Whips, rice krispie treats, and ice cream sandwiches will still be available as always.

Does this mean no more rice krispy mickey heads, or mickey head ice cream, or cookies at the mainstreet bakery or fudge? And I can't go to Pecos Bill cafe and get a burger and fries? I read the article and thought it was a joke, something like the onion.com or something.

I know this is just an embellishment because of the changes just the childrens menu, but what exactly can be defined as junk food? Where do you draw the line? I personally do not think a burger is junk food if made with low fat cuts such as sirloin. I also know plenty of people that consider juices such as apple or orange as too much sugar for children. Other people feel refined sugar is unhealthy therefore most confectionary becomes junk. If WDW takes our sweets away, there's going to be a heck of a lot more pixie dust from whatever else to make up for it. I mean come on, can you imagine carrot sticks and yogurt instead of a dole whip? Blech!

i think this article is misinterperting the facts. I mean Disney has their own line of candies, such as the very succesful Goofy Candy co. which is featured prominantly in the boo to you parade. They aren't giving that up i asure you.

As long as Disney has healthy food along side the junk food I'm glad they are offering alternate food choices.

That being said, they need to leave the hamburgers, fries and hot dogs alone! I like fat in food and the only fat being sucked out of my food is going to be done by me as it slides into my tummy!:rotfl2:
