Disney Park Tickets

I'm a DVC owner and am planning a trip for next February, 2021 for both myself, husband, son and his girlfriend. My son and his girlfriend moved to Miami in March, 2020 and I was wondering about purchasing FL Resident park tickets for them. First of all, I noticed a "Disney Discovery Ticket" which expires this year June 30th. Is this ticket special offered every year and if so when does it usually go on sale? I was thinking will I have the tickets when it's time to sign up for our fast pass+. I don't believe they will go enough to purchase an Annual Pass Ticket. Secondly, since they just moved into Florida will Disney accept a rental agreement at an apartment complex as a form of residence? Not sure if they're going to change their drivers license right away.

Thanks for whoever can answer my questions. I haven't purchased tickets for a while now, my husband and I already have park tickets.

There is a list of what they accept as proof of Florida residence https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/tickets/proof-florida-address/. It sounds like the rental agreement won’t work, but once they get bills mailed to them those would work.

I would definitely expect more Florida ticket offers this summer... Disney will want to encourage as much local business as they can given it will take national and international visitors longer to resume travel.

More generally, though, moving and not replacing drivers’ licenses can cause all sorts of problems, particularly when it comes to filing taxes. (how much of a problem depends on FL laws and the laws of the state they’re coming from. CA would be a problem.). They should get FL drivers’ licenses as soon as they reasonably can.

This year is the first time those Discovery tickets were offered and they are good only through June 30, 2020. They were first offered for sale in late Dec 2019. Nothing has been said about offering them for next year.
