We are flying down 9/18 on Delta, from Detroit to Orlando and I'd like to check the flight status, possibly choose our seats, etc. but when I try to put my confirmation (that Disney gave us, in our booklet) it comes back that I need to put my 14-digit ticket number in. We don't have ticket numbers, just that confirmation (all letters), so how do I go about doing this on Delta's website?

You need to get the correct number from Disney. You'll need the confirmation number (I don't think the ticket number is what you want). The confirmation number is a six character (numbers & letter) code.

Call Delta and ask?

I don't think Delta will give out the information without either the confirmation or the ticket number.

Anyone can go to their site and search a certain day and find flight information. But that doesn't help choose seats.

Yes they will. I called them yesterday

"I am on flight X from TYS to ATL on 12/18, I need the confirmation number to change seats." Delta... your confirmation number is GL0XX (Last to digits changed to protect the guilty)

And the real truth, it's my mother's flight. I just told them I was her. :rotfl: *(She's hearing impaired and has a horrid time with those automated systems they use to get you to a human!)

I believe you. I'm just surprised a business as large as Delta allows you to just call and get the confirmation number with only your name and flight information.

They do... I guess it's because to actually fly you have to prove who you are.

And if you want to change it, it gets harder. Then they quiz you about stuff to prove who you are. (Name, address etc..) But really it's hard for an airline to prove much

SW does the same thing. Heck I had to call them last month and go "I know I have a flight from ATL to MCO on October 1st and that's all I know" They found me :) (I know have a confirmation number and now WHEN the flight flies!) :rotfl:

The original poster said she has the confirmation #, she wanted the ticket #. I'm not sure why she needs the ticket #.

I don't know of any airline which won't give you this information. Lots of people arrange travel for other people (admins, secretaries, travel agents, travel offices in businesses). It's not unusual.

All you usually need is the confirmation number and the traveler's name.

And the confirmation number is what was missing.

I act as DH's travel agent when he's on the road for work, and I've actually been able to make *changes* for DH, without his confirmation number, just by giving enough information.

She has the number disney gave her; that's Disney's confirmation number, probably.

For Delta you can use THEIR confirmation number, skymiles number, CC number, or ticket number to see your ticket. She needs to call Disney to get that info, IMO.
