Anybody been to the Disney outlet in Nashville? Going to be in Nashville in a couple of weeks and was wondering if it's worth checking out? Do they carry Disney Store, Disneyshopping or Disney park merchandise?

I don't know of any Disney outlet in Nashville, only the regular Disney Store. WHere is the outlet located?

There was some kind of outlet in Opry Mills the last few times we've been, but I'm not sure if it is still there. I think the last time we were there was in Oct '06. They had merchandise from Disney store I believe, but there may have been a few things from the parks.

Ok, now I know what you mean. The one in Opry Mills, if memory serves, used to be a Disney Catalog Outlet, but now it's a The Disney Store Outlet. It carries regular The Disney Store merchandise and clearance The Disney Store merchandise. No catalog or park merchandise.

I go to the disney outlet at Opry Mills often. I don't know where the stuff comes from - I think it's Disney store stuff, but don't know for sure. It is fairly big.

Do you find alot of good deals at the one in Opry Mills?
I just hate that TN taxes are so HIGH!!!!!! :scared1:

Thanks so much to whoever asked this question!!! I'll be in Nashville in about three weeks. I just Googled this store and will let you know if there are any good buys!!

I have not been to the one in Nashville, but I go to the one in Branson about four times a year. Sometimes there is catalog stuff, but lately it has been leftover store items and not at deep discounted prices. They will accept your Disney Store coupons. In the past I have found the Haunted Mansion light up houses for Halloween decorations, but that was about three years ago. It would be fun to stop in and see what they have! :goodvibes

No, sales tax in TN is either 9% or more!
Tennessee charges 6% sales tax on groceries, and 7% on other items. Counties also tax up to 2.75% in increments of 0.25% — most do so around 2.25%.

It is mostly the same stuff that's in the Disney Store. I have never found any great deals in there except for fairly inexpensive spinners.

We were there just last month. The only thing I found was some stuffed animals for 2.99, and a sleeveless eeyore shirt for 7.99. It was mostly baby items when I went. I guess it just depends on what they get in, and what you are looking for. Be sure to sign up at the help desk for a free coupon book. Mine had a coupon in it for the Disney outlet and also Build a Bear. It saved a few dollars on my items.

The store at Opry Mills is the same merchandise at the same prices that you find at other Disney Stores.

Opry Mills is not really what I consider an outlet mall. I've never really found much when we shop there. Although, we do go there regularly for the Bass Pro Shop store (DH's favorite).

I was there in February on a business trip and honestly when I was there it was all from the Disney store and there was not any great deals, but if you are like me you will still want to check it out for yourself because maybe it is a hit or miss type outlet. Have a nice time!!! Try and check out the Oprey hotel next door now that is something to see!!!!

As everyone has posted, it is Disney Store stuff, and not at really good discounts (although occassionally, they do have some decent sales). Most merchandise is geared towards small kids...hardly any big kid or adult things. I personally have never seen any park merchandise there. I go quite often to the mall as I live around the corner from it.

BTW, sales tax at the mall is 9.25% (Davidson County tax on stuff)

It is definitely at least worth checking out...

Have fun in Nashville!

Davidson is one of the few lower taxed counties -- Madison is 9.75 as are all surrounding counties.

is TN sales tax 7%? that's not bad compared to other states.

I pay 9.75% - 10% depending on which municipality I'm shopping in. Or maybe it's 9.5% - 9.75%. It's so depressing that I try not to think too much about it. It adds up fast.
