We have done Disney 3 years in a row. My husband wants to do Universal and since it is a 1000 miles it seems a shame to travel all that way and not do Disney, but we would also like to do other things. We do not really get enough time off to do 2 trips. Since we do not live near the coast it makes sense to cruise from Port Canaveral.
We have DVC so I calculated that a cruise for 4 days(Carnival)would cost about the same as 5 Disney days with food and tickets.
Of course we have other ports closer if we wait to cruise and Disney is Disney
.
What would you do?
Kids are 4DS, 8 DD, 10DS

We took the kids on a Carnival cruise this summer and they loved it. We were thinking of taking them on another one for DH and I's 20th wedding anniversary on Spring Break next year, but they said they'd rather go back to Disney! Even though they loved the cruise! Maybe because its been awhile and they're ready to go back? I also liked the pp's suggestion of a 3-4 day cruise and a 3-4 day Disney/Universal vacation. Then you've got the best of both worlds! Have a great trip!
