Disney only wins 1 Golden ticket award.

Cosmic Rewind won Best New Attraction of 2022 as well, so they got two.
That still isn't many. They had no coaster in the top 25 steel coasters, they didn't even win one for best family ride.

Best guest experience: Dollywood. I was never interested before, but that is cool to know about Dollywood.
It's one park that's on my bucket list. Since 2018 I have been to 14 different parks across Canada and the US. Out of the top 25 steel coasters I have ridden 12 of them.

Europa Park being the best amusement park of 2022 makes me really regret not visiting when I still lived in Germany. It was around 2 hours away from my apartment.

It's another park I want to visit. The more amazing thing about the golden ticket awards is how many parks are out there. I have said it before but it's a shame how many don't go out of their comfort zone to check them out

I can't believe they have CP's Maverick as #10 and KI's Diamondback as #17 for steel coasters. Disagree 100%. Maverick is an incredibly jerky steel coaster that is not a smooth ride. Diamondback is on the other hand, smooth as silk.

Millennium Force is still my #1. I love that ride!!

Maverick is smooth. Went on it this past summer. It's meant to be intense like that. Steel Vengeance is my #1. It's one of the most intense coasters out there.

I am short, so Mavericks harness maybe the culprit why I do not find it smooth. My head jerks back and forth and hits the sides and it is downright painful.

I have not been back since SV came out. Last visit was 2017. KI is in my local area and has stepped up its coaster game. Still can't beat CP though.

Steel Vengeance is like the later part of Velocicoaster for 3 minutes straight. Just constantly trying to throw you up and sideways.

Dollywood and Silver Dollar City are must dos for any theme park fans. They're great for all ages and have fantastic food (for significantly less than Disney).

Phoenix as best wooden coaster is definitely overrated. Voyage is clearly better, and El Toro is a better ride when it's running.

KI is the better overall park between the two. And pretty much all coaster/park enthusiasts agree!

Gonna keep my other thoughts on this thread to myself...

Dollywood is barely a full day park, definitely not multi-day in my opinion. It is a clean park and fun day, but is not everybody's cup of...well...moonshine (given the area, not necessarily Dollywood). We will be there again next Friday for the harvest festival, but are only planning about 4-5 hours.

I guess it depends on if you ride any coasters or the rides they have.

I like the coaster selection better at CP, but KI keeps them all running and has way better team members.

I think just about everybody would agree. KI has a better atmosphere, better family aspect, better ops, cleaner, better staff, and lots of other positives. CP's ride operations have been way less than ideal the last couple years. The rides are great, if they are running like they should.

I mean, you could say that about any park in the world if you don't take full advantage of all of their offerings. The park has plenty for a full day, but if not everything interests you, then you could spend less time.

I wonder if a lot of that has to do with the cities they are in. KI being near Cincinnati has a bigger pool of employees to draw from. I did notice the lack of college and out of country employees at CP. In years past they used to have a lot.

I said barely, not that it was not. It is easy to go at times when crowds are minimal and ride even all the big rides without being there from open to close. I have been going since it opened and even now with so many more offerings, I would not plan it as a multi day or sole distance destination, but like anything YMMV.

Covid really hurt Cedar Point in that regard. When they opened in 2020 it was all local workers, and when school started they had trouble keeping big rides open. It should be back to normal next year now that international travel is close to fully open.
