Disney on Ice Question

My mom surprised me and is taking my kids and I to see Disney on ICe tomorrow. I've never been to anything like this, at least not recently enough to remember. I was wondering how cold it is in the arena? Bundle the kids in hats and mittens and scarves or just regular clothes plus a jacket?

Also, trying to think of how much money to bring- I'm sure they sell souvenirs but what kinds of souvenirs and how ridiculously overpriced?

Not overly cold. Certainly not sitting-in-an-ice-rink cold. I think if you're dressed normally for the season where you live, you should be fine.

As for souvenirs, ridiculously overpriced, of course! I seem to remember HSMoI having cotton candy with plastic hats stuck on it was like $6 or $8. Stuff like that. Junk. But the kids love it. Also remember parking fees.

I've been to Disney on Ice several times and have only needed a jacket, it's chilly but not cold.

When thinking about money think of Disneyland/any sporting event. There are stuffed characters, light up wands, snowcones in collector cups that sort of thing.

Also, if I remember correctly, the souvenir stand accepts credit cards so if you're not sure exactly how much cash to bring, you can always use a debit card or credit card as well. We did Monster's Inc. on Ice and HSM on Ice. They sold a lot of things and it's all "Disney prices".

Sounds like I was right on in my thinking about the prices. My mom intends to buy the kids whatever they want but I'm not sure if she realizes just what she's getting herself into. She actually called just to give me a lecture about not stopping her from buying them anything though I was thinking WDW prices but it's been awhile since she's been

You must be going to Hartford. We just saw it at Brdgpt. We were in the front row. Yes, it's chilly. I'd wear a turtleneck under a sweatshirt. Or layer a couple of sweaters. You don't need hats & mittens. You can aways strip if your to warm. Souvenirs ranged from $6 - $25 at our show. I think the small plushes were around $10-$12.

We did go to Hartford. We were in a good lower section, not too bad since Mom decided we were going the afternoon before! I put the kids in layers and they were fine without their coats. We came home with an assortment of spinny light up things, those slush cups and a flounder hat from the cotton candy, a program and a lei. Not too bad but I was trying to push the kids towards t-shirts or something, but they weren't having it. Oh well. It was a lot of fun and we'll definitely go when it comes around again.

They also have "photo op" booths where you can take your pic with a Mickey & Minnie prop, and others. I think it was $12 for a 5x7, and they put it in a cardboard holder.

We've gone 3 times and have never needed to bundle up, as others have said. Dress normally and bring a jacket and you should be fine.

And yep, the souvenirs are expensive. Almost like going to WDW but you know the kids HAVE to have it!
