We saw a version of Disney on Ice 4 years ago and had the very front row. It was pretty cool. The kids were 2,5 and 8 at the time. Now the "100 years of Magic" version is coming and tickets go on sale tomorrow. With the kids now 6,9 and 12, is front row necessary to enjoy the show? I know I don't want to be way in the back, but those first few rows are expensive!

Yes, the 5000 other people in the arena who aren't in the front row, don't enjoy the show AT ALL. Sucks to be them.

But seriously, no, you don't have to be in the front row to enjoy 'any' show. Usually, in fact, you see better in any arena if you are about 1/3 or 1/4 of the way up/back because you can see the whole thing at once. There are a lot of good places to sit in between the way in the back and the front row.
