So we are planning an April 2017 trip and our first full day there is Easter. I have a lot of questions (Like are we insane for one):rolleyes1 But right now I am wondering if there is a way to get some sort of Easter basket put in our room from the Easter bunny. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. There is no way we can figure out the logistics of doing it on our own, since we will be just arriving.

Also, where is a good place for Easter dinner or do people even bother?

Thanks for any tips!

The florist will deliver a very limited kind of baskets, and there are restaurants all over property that serve formal Easter dinner. If you want, they also offer religious services on property as well. We attended the one at the Contemporary and it was very nice.

Last year, the only available religious service was at the Contemporary. There were limited Easter basket options, but (at least at the poly) they were very well advertised, so if you have kids who believe I'd go with a less visible option.

We were there over Easter this year and when I checked prior to arriving the Easter basket prices provided by Disney were expensive IMHO. Instead, I packed a few small items like sunglasses, a portable fan, a light up toy and some small candy items and laid it all out on the table in the room so that my girls would see it the next morning. You could even make a late night run to the gift shop and stock up on small items. No need to worry about an actual basket.

I don't believe they will deliver to your room prior to your check in

Don't know about the Easter Basket - but last year they had Easter Egg Displays at the GF and Contemporary. We were not there but my SIL and BIL were and took beautiful pictures.

We were in WDW quite a few years ago for Easter and figured we would not go to the park as we figured it would be too crowded. We had lunch at the WL and planned on using the pool for the day. Well, the pool was SO crowded - we figured we might as well be in the parks. We had hoppers so we were at Epcot and there were EMH for MK. At the time the MK closed at midnight - so we were able to be in the park until 3:00am, and we did. We rode Splash Mountain at least 4 times - without even having to get off. It was wonderful walking down Main Street at 3:00am.

I don't believe EMH are 3 hours any more - but we had a blast.

In 2012 the gift shop (at Pop, at least) would let you pick out a few things and they wrapped them up in a basket, then you could go pick them up. I did it for both of the kids but they didn't deliver them, you had to come get them.

I think I would get those soft baskets and hide them in a suitcase with some grass and a few cheap filler items, then do what PP suggest and pick up a couple things in the gift shop (rice Krispy treats, small plush maybe), and assemble them on the sly that evening.

We were at WL for Easter 2015. The gift shop had baskets (I think $7 for JUST the basket) and you filled it with whatever you wanted, you could even bring stuff from home or outside of Disney (you had to pay for the contents). I just picked a few things from the gift shop for my boys. They arranged it all in the basket and wrapped it all up. I was able to have it delivered to our room Easter morning. They left it at our door, knocked, and then ran down the hall (peeking to make sure we got them, but that the kids wouldn't see them). So the baskets "magically" appeared at our door Easter morning as far as my kids were concerned.

Are you checking in before Easter or Easter morning?

Also, FYI, we were at WDW the Wednesday before easter through the Friday after Easter and had THE best time. One of my favorite trips by far! I don't know if we are just more easy-going than other people, or we were expecting things to be MUCH worse than they really are. I wouldn't hesitate to go back during easter.

Can you tell me if WL had any kind of Easter displays in the lobby? We stayed at GF last Easter 2015 and loved being in the lobby with all of those gorgeous eggs. Also, I assume WL has the candy scatter outside on Easter morning? Thanks!

No easter displays at WL. We did go visit the GF and Contemporary to look at their displays which were amazing!

Yes, WL has a candy scramble. There were several age groups set up. There were not many people out for it. My boys got a ton of candy. And Minnie even helped my then 2.5 year old fill his bag! Minnie and Mickey were there for pictures dressed in their fancy easter clothes, and also either the Easter Bunny or Mrs. Bunny (I don't remember which one).
