Disneyworld.com now lists a 5th season on thier room rates;
value, regular, peak, holiday and Pre-holiday

There are no rates yet listed for the pre-holiday but the column is there.

Maybe this is to stop people from booking a long week starting on the last day of value season?

Mr.mike, thanks for the info. It will be interesting to see what those "new" rates are.

Oh, Kay!, I hope you don't have to change your December plans.

Softballguy, there is a "Pre-Holiday" column as Mr.mike stated for the AKL and GF resorts. I haven't checked the other resorts yet.

Currently, I have a ressie starting on the second last day of the regular season. Majority of my stay will actually be on Value season. But they still charge me Regular rate for my entire stay, which is 144.00. v.s. 133. Are they going to switch my rate to value rate when it starts ?! I doubted !

Janet2K, Thank you for your sympathy!

I wonder if this is the reason that they are holding up AP discount offers.

Kay

What you will most likely have to do is have two reservations. One for the regular season rate and the other for the value season. When had to do this last year when part of our vacation was holiday(Easter) rates and the balance of our stay was regular rate. I am pretty sure they will not adjust your rate with just one ressie.

We had to go down to the front desk of the resort and check in again. It was relatively painless to do this. I would make sure when you check in that you mention to the cast member you have two ressies so you will not have to move from your existing room.

Have a great day.

Mr. Mike is correct, I have not seen that column before and it must have just been placed there recently because it wasn't there the last time I looked, which was about a week ago. I checked Beach Club and the pre holiday column was there, but no prices. Wonder what's coming....

Momoftwins, Thanks alot for your suggestion !
I will work on that and see if they will accept it.
Have a great day to you too !:)

If they are going to add a new "season" I would bet that it would not affect anyone who is already booked. Might make a difference with any specials or codes they release for that time because nothing is in effect yet.

I already have my room deposit in on my December 18th ressie so I feel safe that they cannot change my rate now that they have my ressie confirmed.

This should be very interesting to see what they make these rates.

I wonder if this will effect our February trip. I booked the last day of value then it jumps to peak. We fly out a day early just to get the value rate. I refuse to pay peak prices. I spend enough.

If this is so maybe we'll book at a non Disney Resort.

I agree, that is new. I've been checking the site a couple of times a week and watching for the 2004 rates. I will be curious what it all means. Just a few too many rate levels I think. I think all they need is 3 (value, regular, & Peak) what's next, a rate for summer, spring and fall??

This could be interesting...Could someone please post the link if they have it...I can't seem to find it...Thank You! :)

I arrive on the 18th of Dec. too, I just sent in my deposit last week.

Does it give the dates for pre-holiday?

We were also planning on arriving the 18th. I've been holding out for AP rates, codes, something in the way of a discount before caving in and making the ressie. We've also been debating staying at the Swan instead of WL, I just really wanted to be at WL for Christmas. If it were any other time of year we'd be booked at the Swan. I'm just not feeling the love from Disney right now.

Now I'm feeling pressure to go ahead and book to lock in the current value season rate before they get those pre-holiday rates up and running.

I don't think they would change rates for 2003. If there is a change, it would be for 2004.

This is probably a bad thought, but maybe the pre-holiday rate is to catch all those people checking in the day before peak season so they can't have a value rate their whole stay OR make them stay longer or start their travel earlier to get the better rates.

Sounds like something they would do to make money.

Just about every time I've visited Disney, I have checked in on the last day of a great rate, and they have always honored that great rate throughout the entire stay (two weeks). If I had checked in one day later, however, I would have been paying twice as much.

One time I did arrive before the great rates started. That time, I booked a second reservation for the next day and re-checked in to my hotel to guarantee getting the new (and better) rate.

Hope this information helps someone!

Even if they squeeze in a different season, it won't be as much as peak prices. At least, I don't think it would.

Hopefully, no one will have to pay more!
