Love all these! Many of my pics from DL childhood are on slides. :sad2:

I feel your pain about the slides, Pink Budgie. No matter how many photos I actually DO have, I inherited a bunch of my grandmother's slides when she passed (who in the world ever thought slides were a good idea?! And why are they all packed in little wooden boxes??), and there are some I would really like to see in photo format. She had some from Catalina, which I would really love to get actual photos of, and there MAY even be some Disneyland pictures in there somewhere, seeing that DL opened in '55 and I am not sure if my mom went there as a kid. I assume there must be certain advanced photo places these days which are used to dealing with old family photos and old negatives and things, who can somehow make photos out of the slides??? It may cost an arm and a leg, but someone must be able to do it. If we can find water on Mars, then we MUST be able to make photos out of old slides!

There are slide and negative scanners. This allows them to be scanned onto your computer which you can then print. My dad keeps saying he wants to get one someday. My parents are the ones who have all the slides. He is an amature photographer and I think at the time they were supposed to be better quality or something. I remember thinking my little flat camera was better because it got real photos back, not slides. ;)

Our slides didn't come wood boxes. We got them in small cardboard boxes of two stacks of slides. They are still in those boxes. Maybe your grandmother bought the wood ones to store them in. :confused3 Just recently Costco advertised a sale on a slide scanner for around $100 so I guess they aren't too terribly expensive. If he ever does get around to this project I'll let you know how it goes. :) In the meantime Lav. Peach and I don't have many childhood pictures to post.

This thread is awesome! I'm enjoying everyone's pics and am wondering if my mom has any of my first trip (1988ish). Can't wait to see more!

Here's that same Cinderella again, this time with my DS and I like this one because you don't see those mice very often! In fact, I can't remember seeing them other than this time back in the 80's! I guess those mice are pretty elusive! :)

Check out that line for Star Tours! We stood in that line and it was
S-O-O-O-O-O LONG...and hot in August! I don't think anyone who stood in that line could be against Fastpass!

I love these old pictures - keep 'em coming!:goodvibes

I remember when Star Tours first opened in 1987, the line was literally extending all the way out onto the edge of Main Street, or like to where the Partners statue is located. Crazy!

Thanks everyone for posting your photos. It brings back warm and fuzzy memories for me! :goodvibes What a great way to start my morning.

I love that your dad has a suit coat on in DL!! Sometimes our society these days is just way to casual!

Great picture!

I was going to say the same thing..:rotfl: love it!

Me at IASW; I always seemed to have on some really cool shades :cool1: at Disneyland as a kid! :rotfl2:

us blondes always need sunglasses in the sun...even as kids! I'll have to get some pics from my mom (in the 80's) of me at WDW(sorry, no DL here but will make it there someday!)...always had on sunglasses!
