I don't consider those things a "perk" since I pay for them - I consider them what comes with the price I pay to stay deluxe/DVC. However, with the EMH they're offering for Deluxe/Villa resorts, to me that is a "perk" since I didnt pay for it - it's an above and beyond than what I paid OOP for.
So if you're considering a perk to be something you don't pay for, then why are rich people who can afford deluxe more deserving of perks?

Why do you think only rich people can afford deluxe rooms? There are a range of deluxe room prices.

and if Disney wants to give folks who stay in Deluxe resorts a perk of a couple of hours in the parks a few times a week then that's their prerogative.... :confused3 and I didnt say that deluxe folks are more deserving or not..that's what you said...

Bottom line, like anything else in this society, a business exists to make a profit. And adding tangible benefits to deluxe resorts will help entice people to spend more on their lodging. This thread is quickly devolving into a "not fun" environment, and I would propose we head back in that direction.

and there are LOTS of things I'd like to experience at Disney that I can't afford to but I'm not angry at those that can - I might be a little jealous but I don't turn that into anger..

I think it’s time for some good dancing memes!

Not angry at the people who get to do it, but at Disney. I just wish they were more than another company that's just about the money.

As much as it sucks, they are a business and are always looking out for ways to make money - and that money is (partially) used to provide us shiny new things that we enjoy like new rides, restaurants and experiences.

If Disney was like Monsters Inc and made money (vs. electricity) from smiles and laughs while we are in the parks having a great time, then they would be the happiest place on earth all the time!

Why do people insist on calling those who stay at deluxe resorts, rich? Are those who stay at moderates or value, poor?

It has nothing to do with deserving or not deserving. We are willing to buy Disney’s more expensive offerings. They want us to continue doing that, so this is their incentive for us to do so.

Perhaps, but they have chosen to be those guys and be greedy.
