Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun!

I have a 9 year old that wants nothing to do with Disney or Mickey throughout the year, but even seeing Mickey at a distance got him to light up. I don't have much time left where he will get that excited.

My boys will be turning 15-years-old on Sunday and they still love Disney. They tell me all the time they miss Disney and they can't wait for our trip in August, so they haven't lost their love for Disney. There is hope!

My daughters are turning 18 in November, and they asked to go to WDW for their senior year/turning 18 celebration. :)

I've got 4 kids. DD26, DD19, DS17 DS9. My teens are Disney'd out 😞 9 yr old is getting close, but still enjoys it. (Especially if Universal is thrown in)
DD26 is truly my mini me (Or MINNIE me :teeth:) And now that she has given me 3 Grandkids, (GS4, GS2, GD9months) they are continuing the Disney joy. :earsgirl:

Now that the fireworks are confirmed, can all of you skilled dancers apply your boogie efforts to the return of AP sales please?

Disneyland Paris reopened today for AP holders :D
I have been monitoring several social media accounts of people in the park and this is the summary. Spoilers ahead ;-)

Mainly these 4 Twitter accounts, I will post some pictures at the bottom, but for all, have a look at these accounts:
ED92Magic, DLPReport, CharactersPBlog, InsideDlpCastle

General
  • New sign when entering + music
  • The AP holders now have 3 gates on the left to enter the park via the private entrance
  • Swing into Spring décor from 2016 is back
  • Extra décor at lamp posts etc. new posters in the Studios
  • Filmstrip in the Studios repainted.
  • Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast has reopened, new led lights, better projections etc.

Refurbishments
  • In general, lots of refurbishment done on roofs, streets, facades have been painted and the entire park looks fresh.
  • Sleeping Beauty artwork at the back of the castle for the refurbishment. The castle itself is covered as well, except the top tower.
  • The Chapperal Theater is now named the Frontierland Theater and all the theming is done. They have added a water wheel.
  • The Barbershop has been reopened! I haven’t seen it in use in all the 12 years I am a regular visitor!
  • Studio D is done and ready for guests as of 1st of July in the Studios
Covid measures (different from last Summer)
  • Most rides have plexiglass dividers (not Ratatouille)
  • Phantom Manor has dividers in the stretch room
  • Terraces are socially distanced, also in the Lucky Nugget plenty of space between tables.

I believe today marks the first time since January 2020 that all Disney Parks across the globe are open.

My DD is 11 and if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she says "an Imagineer." She has big plans for the college program and then working for Disney. Now if I could just figure out how to sign her up for Imagination Campus without a group...

She also points out ANY time a car has an AP magnet and tells me she will have one soon. So that's my request, please - I need APs back. My husband said he's getting me an AP as soon as they are available. (I'd like to think he's being sweet, but he's a financial planner and he's likely upset with the amount of money I have spent on tickets in the past year).

I guess they wouldn't be able to extend park hours at the MK on the nights that Boo Bash is scheduled. Fireworks would be at 9:00, and then everyone without an event ticket would have to leave once fireworks are over?

makes me wonder if MNSSHP will ever be back. Especially since the first sold out date for boo bash was the $200 a person night.
Yep, sure makes you wonder... If they can charge twice as much for a party that's half the amount of time, why wouldn't they?

I do wonder about Christmas, though. The Christmas fireworks were pretty special. If there's no full length party, will that be gone?

And with less people so that means less staffing so they save more money.

Hoping to be pleasantly surprised with Boo bash. Possibly there will be some special extras.

The long parties were awesome but they also severely impacted crowd flow with the shorter hours and lack of fireworks on party dates. It basically changed park touring 4 months out of the year. If WDW can still make BooBash amazing it might be worth the compromise.
