Here is how Walt Disney World describes Ferrytale Fireworks:

Climb aboard one of Disney’s most iconic ferryboats for an unforgettable evening on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Start by checking in at the Transportation and Ticket Center, where you’ll be greeted with a refreshing beverage before setting sail. Then let the ferryboat’s crew regale you with an entertaining backstory of the vessel’s magic.

Once you cast off, the celebration continues with a stellar selection of international cheeses and delightful desserts crafted by our pastry team. Plus, you can choose from a selection of specialty drinks themed to the sparkling shooting stars of the fireworks. Alcoholic options are available for Guests 21 years of age or older. For the kiddos, there’s also an ultraviolet scavenger hunt. So whether you’re sipping one of our signature drinks, nibbling on a tasty sweet or discovering blacklight clues, you’re a part of the magnetic magic that makes this cruise so special and unique.

And when it comes time for the grand finale fireworks to light up the sky over Cinderella Castle, be sure to grab a spot along the ferryboat’s railing and slip on your “Mickey Vision” glasses—they’ll transform your viewing experience in the most delightful way.

Two Hartmann's Zebra Foals Born at Animal Kingdom
Two Hartmann’s mountain zebra foals have joined the herd at Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra Foals

Dr. Mark Penning, VP of Disney’s Animals, Science & Environment, shared photos of the foals on Instagram, writing, “Double the stripes, double the fun!”

“Two playful Hartmann’s mountain zebra foals, Cricket and Dot, were born to moms Juno and Aziza and have been curiously exploring their new surroundings,” Penning explained.

Each zebra is born with unique stripe patterns, and no two are the same — just like human fingerprints! Dot has a triangle shape on the front of both of her shoulders that resembles an upside-down checkmark, while Cricket has a forked stripe, resembling a wishbone.

The foals joined their dad, Domino, on the savanna after a couple of weeks of bonding with their moms backstage.

Juno and Aziza are both first-time moms. Cricket was born to Juno on May 29, and was named in honor of Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life” as a nod to Juno’s nickname, June Bug.

Dot was born to Aziza on June 4. She was named after the dots of a domino as a reference to her dad, as well as after the young princess in “A Bug’s Life.”

Hartmann’s mountain zebras live in Namibia and Angola, Africa. They are distinguishable from other zebra subspecies by the dewlaps on their necks and lack of stripes on their stomachs. The International Union for Conservation of Nature classifies them as vulnerable due to hunting and habitat loss.

Walt Disney World has had several successful animal births recently including Walter the red river hog at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Penny the yellow-backed duiker calf, and twin cotton-top tamarins.

Cinderella Castle Moat is Being Refilled
Cinderella Castle Moat is Being Refilled in the Magic Kingdom After Refurbishment. Seeing a bunch of heavy machinery surrounding Cinderella Castle is never ideal, unfortunately once in a while, it is needed. When Disney must do work or renovations, or in this case remove the 50th-anniversary overlay, the castle moat must be drained to bring in cranes.

Disney has finished all the work surrounding Cinderella Castle. With the turrets being repainted and touched up, and some of the rock work in the moat being fixed. Now, we can see all the equipment has been removed, and the water is starting to flow back into the moat.

Give it a few days to be filled back up, and now you and the family can enjoy the Castle in all its glory.

Large Pilings Driven Deep into Center of World Showcase Lagoon to Support New EPCOT Fireworks Show

While visiting EPCOT today, we noticed some new pilings driven deep into World Showcase Lagoon to support EPCOT’s new fireworks show set to debut later this year. If we’re reading the markings correctly, the pilings are some 55′ tall, but only the top 10′ or so is visible above the water. The pilings are clustered around the existing electrical vault in the middle of the Lagoon. Here’s a look!

As we continue around World Showcase Lagoon in a counter-clockwise fashion, we can see that the pilings essentially surround almost half of the existing electrical vault dock.

Evan Peters Joins Cast in Tron 3

The actor, who generated acclaim for his portrayal of the title character in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, has closed a deal to star opposite Jared Leto in Tron: Ares, the third installment of Disney’s technology-pushing movie series.

Joachim Ronning is directing the feature that is due to begin shooting August in Vancouver. Getting filming off the ground would be a coup for the studio, which has been trying to make a Tron 3 for over a decade and turn Tron into a bona fide brand and franchise.
