So a bit late here, but I’m totally following for a tron date…. I have a trip for Nov 9-12. But if it’s out of that range I maybe booking another trip. I may or may not have told my daughter we could go opening day…..

EDIT: Wow ... somehow my post got quite butchered when I went to post

Anyhow, I'll be down in WDW 11/8 - 11/18 and as a huge TRON geek it's gonna be torture as I don't think they'll have the ride running but it'll be sitting there in all its' glory. Or worse I'll be stuck watching media or DVC previews without access.

Anybody that'll be down during that timeframe and is invited to a TRON preview need a buddy to ride with them?

'Opening day' won't be just one day. There will be media previews, cast member previews, AP/DVC/D23 previews, etc. first before opening day to the public. I think public previews will be available in November/December, but if not, I bet there will definitely be media previews in time for Disney's Christmas parade specials. It would be free advertising for them.
For her opening day is first day open to the public. I have an AP but no other type of preview and she has none. I get what your saying, but she is 8 and has her own ideas!

I would not count on a November opening date or for Tron to be open in 2022 at all. There is still a decent amount of work that needs to be done as well as staffing + training for the attraction and then time for AP/DVC/D23 previews.
Makes sense, a girl can dream, but also would never complain about additional trips

Happens to me all the time!!

I agree so sad when your dying to try a ride and you just miss the opening! Hopefully it opens soon! If you could take a buddy for AP would be amazing but they don’t get buddies!!

Have to wonder if the change is due to some desire for a change in "style"?
Or was it a budget issues that made them go with the least costly from a labor/skill standpoint?
Or are they not yet done, and just trying it out. (seats are still the original teal from the old color scheme...)

I do hope they keep the tradition of each being a little different...

Disneyland News:

Disneyland Seeking Performers for 2023 Parade

Disneyland Live Entertainment is seeking dancers and look-alike roles for a parade in 2023. The catch-all audition call seeks individuals of all heights for dancer & look-alike roles. The audition will take place this September and rehearsals will begin in 2023.

With the D23 Expo in just a couple of weeks, and a few parades either in storage or getting ready to head to storage, it’s possible that we could see an announcement on the return of one or more of the following parades:
  • Magic Happens
  • Paint the Night
  • Main Street Electrical Parade (ending September 1, 2022)
  • Unconfirmed Disney 100 Parade

Could always pay to join D23.... $99 for one membership or $129 for two. Currently a Disney Visa Labor Day Discount on memberships that could save you 23% if you have one of those. It comes with a few perks that might make it worth having on it own. And of course their previews of attractions are usually more than you just get to ride it.

That said.... they have two months of outdoor construction left to do on Tron (just my guess), and I don't see Disney putting cast members in a construction zone for training. D23 would only be worth it, if you can do a last minute and unplanned trip.

My guess is they'll be pushing it to be ready before the 50 Years event end March 31st.
