Ok so I'm getting more and more excited each day. We're going to our first ever disney trip the end of July. I've started a journal book out of my 6X9 address book and I've printed off everything from packing lists to dining tips. We've made reservations at the Cinderella Castle and I've decided to try and get some for the Ohana and either Tony's Town Square or the Restaurantosaurus Char dining. What are your thoughts? We can do 3 table dinners so Cinderella is one and these are the other choices. We're spending 2 days at Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Animal Kingdom Park. So places there would be best. We also need Quick Service ideas for lunches etc at both places also possibly resorts since we can just hop a tram to anywhere. Thanks so much !!!!

Try for Ohana

Most people on this board do not like Tony's and Donald's gets mixed reveiws, some love and some hate.

Tell us more about your travel companions and which resort are you staying at?

We're staying at the Polynesian and its me and my husband and our 3 children ages 11, 8 and 5. We will be at the resort for 5 days then off to the 3 night cruise on the Wonder.

You don't mention that you're on the Disney Dining Plan (Magic Your Way Package with Dining), but the way you say you have three table dinners makes me think maybe you are.

Just in case, please take note that Cinderella's Royal Table is considered a signature dining restaurant. This means it costs two DDP table service credits per person.

If you're not on the dining plan, please disregard.

I personally found both Tony's and Donald's Breakfastsaurus to be disappointing. In the Magic Kingdom, I'd recommend either the Crystal Palace or the Liberty Tree Tavern.

I would also recommend Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Inn. CP has Winnie Pooh Characters and Liberty Tree has Minnie Mouse, Goofy,etc... dressed up in colonial style wear. Crystal Palace is one of our favorites for breakfast. :dance3: Since you are staying at Poly, you might try Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary as it is also on the monorail route.

Thank you very much for this I wasn't aware of it taking 2 signature dinners.... Yes we are on the DDP for 3 days so we need to rethink this dinner. What about the other dinner inside the castle? Are they both considered 2 DDP's? Now with all your responses I'm really rethinking where we will eat. Maybe a quick service at the Animal Kingdom park instead of a sit down dinner - any good ideas? I'll look more into the Crystal Palace and the LIberty Tree as alternatives to the Cinderella's char dinner. I'm looking into Chef Mickeys too. Thank you so much for your ideas you guys are wonderful!!! :goodvibes

Animal Kingdom has some great Counter Service! Flame Tree BBQ and Tusker House!:thumbsup2

This link will bring you to menus from around the world

If you decide against the castle which is 2 TS, consider 1900 Park Faire Dinner with Cinderella which is only one.

Also check out the link above and look up restaurants at other resorts along the monorail line (Poly, Contemporary, Grand Floridian) or can be reached easily by boat (Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness)

A meal at Cinderella's Royal Table ( AKA The Castle) is two table service credits. There is a Cinderella dinner at the Grand Floridian Hotel that is just one Credit-just to clarify!

Thank you so much for all your responses!!

I think were going to do this let me know what you guys think =

Saturday arrival day = OHANA
Sunday = The PLAZA Rest
Monday = LIBERTY TREE TAVERN
Tuesday = RESTAURANTOSAURUS (non char)
Wednesday = 1900 PARK FARE

Let me know what you guys think!
Thank you so very much for all your help I just need to make reservations and hope I can still get them!

I can also switch one or 2 of these if you think something is better - Maybe The Chef Mickey's for one of the resort days - Saturday or Wednesday -rather it be the wednesday I just want as little running around as possible. Thanks!

You better get on the phone with dining this morning if you want those ressies. Reservations open up 6 months ahead of time and many of the restaurants get filled very quickly. Your cutting it close, especially for the busy season.

One last thing, "Restaurantasoarus?" Are you sure? Did you read the menus? If the answer is yes, I'll be quiet, some people like burgers I guess.

Just one note (sorry to keep throwing cold water on your plans, but better to know up front). If you're going in July, 1900 Park Fare will be closed for refurbishment. You can still do the dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming, but it will be temporarily re-located to the Grand Floridian cafe. It will also be a different menu instead of the normally spectacular buffet.

Welcome to the Dis! SO glad you found us. A first trip is very exciting. The DIS can help you find information on helping make your first trip magical!

WCC at the Wilderness Lodge is also a fun place for dinner. The WL is also a very impressive resort to see. The lobby is out of this world! There is a boat you can take from MK that takes you to WL. A nice ride too.

For counter service, we like Cosmic Rays. We go early and get burgers, they start serving about 10:30 am. We call em breakfast burgers :rotfl:

At AK, we love Flame Tree Barbeque. One of our must do's on each trip.

Have fun planning!
