Hi...We are going to Disney for the first time in the beginning of Nov

Can you please help me with my meals. I have researched the crowd calender & have come up with this schedule. We have the free dining plan (5 snacks, 5 counter, 5 table) & are staying at Wilderness Lodge & have the park hopper. My kids are 7 (DS) & 3.5 (DD) - my DS is not crazy about character meals:confused3 Thanks so much!!!

Fri: Arrival Day???

Sat: Animal Kingdom
9:20am Tusker House

Sun: Magic Kingdom

Mon: Epcot
9:35am Akershus

Tues: Hollywood Studios

Wed: Last Day??

If your DS has never been to a Disney Character meal, how is he so certain that he isn't interested. Give them a try, I see you have Tusker & Akershus already, so that might be enough characters for him.

At HS I would give 50's Prime Time or Sci-Fi a try for the atmosphere, the food at 50's is better IMHO.

If at MK and aren't interested in anything there, considering jumping on the monorail to head over to the Poly to try Kona Cafe or O'Hanas.

You also didn't mention which dining plan you're on. Do you have more than one table service a day?

We have (5 snacks, 5 counter, 5 table) - not sure what that is called. My DS has always been not crazy about characters (ie easter bunny, santa, geoffrey at toyrus) so I only booked two.

From what I've heard from friends, 50's has a "shtick" to it...it's "mom's diner" and you can't put your elbows on the table, have to say "yes, please"/"no thank you", have to ask permission to use the restroom, etc. that may be lost on the kids and they might actually question why Mom & Dad have to ask permission to do those things. And at your DD's age she might not understand why the server is doing this to her if it's not commonplace to do these things at home.

Just an FYI...

Since you are staying at the WL, you have a great restaurant in your resort....Whispering Canyon Cafe.
We love this restaurant. Good food, fun for the kids, the servers do antics, let them ride stick ponys, have ketchup runs....it is also a loud place. Kids love it!

Definitely try it out.

Thank you, I did not know this. I am not into that at all & the kids will not get it, so I will cancel it.

I agree with the PP who said to try Whispering Canyon...unless either of your kids are sensitive to a VERY loud atmosphere. Another on to try and snag would be 'Ohana, that one is very popular too with fun stuff for the kids to do.

If you don't have a hibachi style grill where you live then Teppan Edo might be a good choice if you like Japanese/Chinese style food...

The other one that was on our list as a "maybe" was Coral Reef...they have a huge fishtank in the restaurant or something with lots of seating right by the tank.

This is why I just cancelled my ressie there, my daughter wouldn't like that
