Disney name in a URL

Does anyone know if it is legal to use the disney name in a URL. My girls want to set up a website to sell and trade some of their disney pins and I was thinking about something like disneypintrades.com or something like that but wasn't sure if I would get an email from Disney to shut down the site if I used their name in the URL.

I'd be very careful using the Disney name. I don't know that they'd do anything about it, but you'd be better off choosing a different URL name.

If they just want to trade, your best bet is to set them up on pinpics, or to post their traders on the trade board here.

DISAuctions is free for them to use to sell their pins.

you could certainly do something like:

(hypothetically)http : / / w w w. myfavoritepins.net/ disney.html

that would be a file name...
as long as Disney comes up within the
HTML code or in the page title name...
you are sure to come up on search engine
searches...

I wouldn't put Disney in the name but
may consider DiZney or Dizznee
something that sounds like it but isn't!

Like Ashley said, they probably wouldn't
do anything about it, but you'd be safer
incase they ever decide to crack down!

The beauty of the web is there is no control
over the internet... there is the w3 consortium
that writes new code patterns and stuff
and sets standards... but they couldn't
say what you could have and not have...
but you COULD always be sued for using
the name or having certain content over time...
They might not care now, but you never know
what ideas Eisner could wake up with tomorrow!
