OK, am I the only adult that has Colors of the Wind, Whole New World, and Hakunna Matata on their MP3 player?

I haven't been able to add Tiki Room (original) or the song from EPCOT American Pavillion (Golden Wings?) yet!

Nope.

I have all those and more.... Chim Chiminey, Bippidy Boppity Boo, Someday My Prince will come, Circle of Life, Just Around the Riverbend...

:)JE

I have 309 tracks in my WDW playlist and quite a few movie soundtracks as well.

Between DH and me we have almost every song conceivable from the parks to the movies. We should join a support group.....Oh wait! I did.:rotfl:

On the subject of disney music.....at the fort, Ive often heard some very subtle "island type" music...maybe its more like "Native American" music....Im not sure what category it fits into...therefore I have no idea what to search for when downloading mp3s...its played with a wooden sounding wind instrument...like one of those things you'd see a mythological "half goat-half boy" creatures(maybe a centaur?) playing..does anyone know what Im talking about? Has anyone heard these songs? Does anyone know what Id look for to download this stuff?

Haha. I listen to the full ride of The Haunted Mansion in my car during roadtrips. I imagine my car is a doombuggy. ;)

Rog,
I think you are referring to a panflute?
We will be there June 6th and I will keep an ear out for the music - did you hear it at the pool?
Now I want to hear some Davy Crocket!

Rog-

I know the music your are talking about.

I always thought it was Native American sounding.

I never quite thought of it as coming from a goat-boy playing a flute. :rotfl2:

Have you been painting your golf cart or something?

You know, paint fumes?

Seriously, though, I love that music. When I am taking a break from exploring, I love to sit on the porch in front of Crockett's and listen to that music.

It has a haunting/soothing quality.

And, I am pretty sure a goat-boy has nothing to do with it.

TCD

BTW- Centaurs are the half horse/half man things. As far as I know, they are not known for their flute playing.

We were sitting right near the speaker and heard it -- a bit too much but it was nice the first few hundred times.

Exactly....its almost hypnotic....I love it and would really like it for my personal collection...but just dont have a clue what to look for!!!

Ya just never know until you read the credits!!!:surfweb:

Thats very racist of you to assume a horse/dude cant take lessons and master the goat/boy instrument!!;)

You know, you are right.

Shame on me.

I formally apologize to all horse/dudes who may have been offended by my insensitive generalizations.

And, BTW, how come I have never seen a horse/dudette?

Or a goat girl?

Rog, would it be OK for us to talk about flying horses?

Can they play the flute?

I still say you are hoovering some paint fumes or something.

TCD

FWIW - We have a garden ornament that is a goat boy and he is playing the flute.

Im sure most of you wont remember the Hercules cartoon from the early 70s....but he had a goat/boy friend...I believe his name was Newton...he said everything twice(I never understood why..I assume there was actually very little content in the cartoon...and having him repeat all of his lines may have been the best way for them to have filled a 22 minute time slot!)...anyway...I remember him playing the flute..or at least carrying it in the show.....I really have NO IDEA why the music at the Fort reminded me of this goat/boy's panflute because I dont remember what the cartoon music sounded like...but the two just merged together in my pathetic excuse of a mind. Maybe too many paint fumes in my history, like TCD said!!!!

OK, Rog, I am starting to worry about you now.

You have got to put down the spray gun and go outside and get some fresh air.

And then drink a pot of black coffee.

I totally remember the Mighty Hercules cartoon. But, I don't remember that Hercules tunic was that short, or cut up to there. :scared1:

And, the character in your photo is not a goat/boy, he's a horse/boy.

Look:

I found a great review on the IMDB website. Here's a link:

IMDB Review of The Mighty Hercules

And here is a quote from that article:

But really, when dissecting "Hercules", one has to go no further than the sidekicks. Herc receives help in the form of Newton, a knock-kneed bumbling centaur with slight homosexual tendencies (and more than an inspiration for "The Simpsons" Waylon Smithers), and also Toot, a spritely sort of two-legged version of Newton who can only express himself through a piccolo. And speaking of cheap and careless cartoon-making, watch out for the one where Newton's voice changes mid-episode. This blatant disregard for quality and continuity may mark this program as, well, amateur...but in the spirit of kitsch and pop-culture, it's probably what puts "The Mighty Hercules" over the top as one of TV's true diamonds in the rough.

I think this is a photo of the goat/boy that you were thinking of:

So, to review . . .

Newton = horse/boy

Toot = goat/boy

Sorry for the thread hijack, OP.

I used to listen to the soundtrack of Pocahontas pretty much non-stop when my oldest DD was about 4 or 5. I remember we still had a car with a cassette player back then (does anyone remember cassettes?) If I am remembering right, there were some instrumental tracks on the soundtrack that might be similar to the music that plays on the FW loop.

TCD

Wow....you're right!!! It was Toot who had the flute!!!(piccolo)....horse/boy...goat/boy....4 legs...2 legs.....no wonder so many in my generation had a drug problem!!!

You may be right about the Pocahontas soundtrack havint that style of music on it...I think I remember a few scenes with that type of thing playing as mood music! Im gonna check that out.

YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much....youre awesome!!!

That's nice! I may have to buy it. :D

D-Cot has the Wilderness Lodge lobby music free for the streaming (I think you have to register), but no FW stuff (for shame!). I spend a lot of time streaming their theme park tracks, though. :)

And we'll just, erm, ignore the fact that I have not only a few of the animated movie soundtracks, but a couple of their stage show counterpart soundtracks as well. Oh, and Enchanted. :lovestruc Do I have to count Kingdom Hearts?
