Am I going crazy or did I read somewhere that you can purchase Disney Character pieces for Mr. Potato Head? I just got back and completly forgot about looking for them though I didn't come across them anywhere. I thought I had read that some store at WDW had them and you can stuff a bag to buy them. I would love to call the store and get them for my kids! Thanks!

Why, yes. At both World of Disney (DtD... and NYC) and Mouse Gear (Epcot) (and probably some other locations), you can Build a Mr. Potato Head. They have a station so you can choose a potato and add Disney pieces. However, you can also just stuff a box full of pieces (stuffing technique if you want the potato, too is to fill him up with pieces then fill the bottom of the box, then stuff the sides and top... as long as it closes all of the way, you're good). I believe it costs $18 a box.

nice to see the price hasn't changed! thats how much we paid 2 years ago when we went! we love doing it! my son has all kinds of pieces for it! he will be 7 when we go again and he asked if we can get more Mr. Potato Head pieces...:goodvibes

Thank you! I hoped I wasn't going crazy! We never made it to DtD on our trip and walked right past MouseGear in Epcot! I hope I can have tehm ship some out! Thanks again!

The price is $19. I just found my receipt from Sept.

Okay, I saved my receipts for future planning.
:rolleyes2

this is a blast we have a bin of pieces and i bought extra potato heads at toys r us on clearence for like $2 so we could play all at once. we have so much fun even buying new pieces. looking forward ot it in a few weeks.

There are several locations you can do this.
DTD: Once upon a toy store
Their selection is quite large. They also have lots of the "bigger" accesories too. We found the Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin car (from the ride) there. Now Mr Potato Head can go on the ride too.

Magic Kingdom: Toon Town Hall of Fame Tent
This is the same place where you go to meet the princesses and fairies. Their selection isn't as big as the previous, but not bad.

Animal Kingdom: Chester and Hesters Dinosaur Treasures
This is the shop very close to Primeevil Whirl. It also has a selection of parts.

We didn't see the one at Mouse Gears, Epcot....probably a good thing, because I was adamment we were only getting one box of parts and then we found the one DTD. We had a look and said "Oh I wish we had gotten this and that". On the second last day we got the second box. We can't get the extra parts here in Australia so for us it was something special.

Just a remimder - don't forget to get some extra arms with the round fist and a hole in the middle. These are useful, so Mr Potatohead can hold his Mickey ice cream, his Mickey ballon and autograph book.

Have fun

Careful they are addicting. I buy a box every year to add to what I have. I am hoping there will be new peices this trip in four days. YEAH!

So that explains my 20 gallon tote of Mr. Potato Head parts? :rotfl2:

Easiest thing to do is to just fill the box up with the parts, you can fit an awful lot into that box. The last trip I actually didn't buy a box of parts, rather I came home with 2 of the Star Wars potato heads. Once you have the body your possibilities are endless.

And at MouseGears it's past the candy, towards the toy section.

Do they have new parts since the Cruella and Peter Pan and Pirate set from 2006? I saw those on a website -- but nothing newer. We don't have that set -- but, we have the other sets. My folks are there, so I'd like them to pick up some new pieces -- but I'm not sure what to tell them to get.

Do they have anything new?

We had so much fun filling two boxes of Mr. Potato Head parts. My 18 yr old DD wanted some part and I was able to fill a box of parts for my nephew. This trip I'm going to get all of them some new parts and some for my niece. I'm glad to know that you can still fill the box for $19. I would just stuff the box with parts, you will be amazed with how much you can get in that box, and get the head at home. Wal-Mart usually has them pretty inexpensively. It's a better deal that was and you get more. DTD has a really big selection, we were able to the Dumbo from the ride for Mr. Potato Head.

We were just there and they have Star Wars parts so I got a box of them. I got another box of odds and ends also. I get a box or two everytime I go. LOL

I haven't seen new parts in 2-3 years. They desperately need to make some more...I don't have nearly enough. ;)
