Disney Movies for 2007

Greatest American Hero is AwesomE!!
I will tolerate no disagreement on this.

believe it or not I'm walking on air, never thought I could feel so free-hee-hee. Flying away on a wing and a prayer. who could it be?

(I hope thats right)

According to Magical Mountain, National Treasure 2 will be called National Treasure: Book of Secrets, and the release date is December 21, 2007.

UPDATE

More details on the sequel to National Treasure.

The full title is now National Treasure: Book of Secrets. The plot deals with the diary of John Wilkes Booth and its missing 18 pages (a historical fact) that are supposed to deal with a conspiracy in Lincoln's cabinet that led to his assiniation (a long held speculation) and a horde of Confederate gold buried to help "the south rise again" (Hollywood make believe).

This film should be corrupting America's already sad & pathetic knowledge of history starting on 12/21/2007.

Excellent birthday present!

Did Disney dump their plans to collaborate with Elton John on "Gnomeo and Juliet"? Iheard rumors about this movie but nothing in a few months

The latest rumors I've heard (and this was a while ago) was that both Gnomeo and The Ice Queen have been scrapped. The director of American Dog, Chris Sanders (who was also the director on Lilo and Stitch) has been fired; the fate of that movie is still undecided. Rapunzel may or may not see a 2009 release date. And a Frog Prince, based on a russian legend, is in pre-production. Pixar has yet to release any information for their upcoming slate.

As I understand things, Gnomeo was to have used existing Elton John songs, with maybe a couple new ones thrown in. It's whispered there is some interest in doing something with the project just to keep Sir John happy (e.g., so he doesn't start to write songs for Dreamworks). One of the ideas is for a Broadway play, like the play 'Mama Mia' that uses old Abba songs.

It's a rough time at the moment. Disney Feature Animation and Pixar are not getting along - DFA resents being thought of as "broken" (to which I answer 'have you seen Chicken Little'?); the crowd up at Pixar is terrified that Disney is going to ruin the special company that they have. There's a lot of snipping going on right now.

Thanks for that. That was what I was talking about. Disneyland; Secrets, Stories & Magic. That's been in the works for ages. This is the first I've seen it packaged like this. Should be great.

Also, very happy to see the Oswald thing.

You're welcome.

There is also brief talk/clips/promotional stuff regarding the next Legacy releases on the True Life Adventures Legacy dvds.

If you listen carefully, you can hear Disney reving up the engines for the carpet-bombing marketing that will come with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. The first images of the pre-release posters are up at Ain't-it-Cool News:

I'm sure that the pictures of Johnnie and Orlando will be in scores of bandwidth-clogging signatures by the end of the day. But even I have to agree that these are pretty good posters.

It's also worth noting that Disney is now sticking with the 5/25 openeing date. Rumors about town say this is going to be a tight squeeze. If you've had a chance to watch to watch the "making of" features on the Dead Man's Chest DVD you've already seen how "challenged" this production was.

I can't believe they're making a live action/CGI Underdog.

Anyone remember what a mess Scooby Doo was?

I challenge you to find ANY cartoons that have made a decent live-action transformation: Scooby? Nope. Flinstones? Ah, no. Garfield? :sad2: See what I mean?

I LOVED THE FLINTSTONES..... of course I was 9 at the time

But I agree with you, besides most of the Superheros (Superman, Batman) the jump from drawings to live action is a tough one to make

Ugh.

I hate Generation Why? and Generation Next. Screw you guys.
