So that everyone can get a jump start on their planning for the new year, here is the list of upcoming theatrical movies from Disney during 2007 and the company’s marketing blurb for each film.

1/26 - The Invisible
From the producers of "The Sixth Sense" and the co-writer of "Batman Begins," "The Invisible" is a supernatural thriller about a writer who finds himself trapped between the world of the living and the dead-completely invisible to the living. Nick (Justin Chatwin) has a bright future until he is brutally attacked and left for dead. Now in limbo, his only chance to live again is to figure out the mystery of what happened to him and why, before his time runs out. But how do you solve a murder, when the victim is you?

2/16 – Bridge to Terabithia
Based on the popular Newbery Award-winning novel, "Bridge to Terabithia" is a fantasy/adventure story of friendship, family and the power of imagination from the producers of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." Jess Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) is an outsider at school and even in his own family. Jess has trained all summer to become the fastest kid in his middle school class but his goal is unexpectedly thwarted by the new girl in school, Leslie Burke (AnnaSophia Robb) who competes in the "boys only" race and wins.

Despite their awkward introduction, the two outsiders quickly become best friends. Leslie loves to tell stories of fantasy and magic. Jess loves to draw, but until he met Leslie it was something he kept to himself. Leslie opens a new world of imagination for Jess. Together they create the secret kingdom of Terabithia, a magical place only accessible by swinging on an old rope over a stream in the woods near their homes. There, the friends rule the kingdom, fight the Dark Master and his creatures and plot against the school bullies. Thanks to his friendship with Leslie, Jess is changed for good. Brimming with fantastical creatures, palaces and beautiful forests, the world of Terabithia is brought to life by the amazing Academy Award®-winning visual effects wizards at Weta Digital ("The Lord of the Rings," "King Kong").

3/02 – Wild Hogs
Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy hit the road in this rollicking comedy-adventure about a group of middle-aged friends who decide to rev up their routine suburban lives with a freewheeling motorcycle trip. Taking a long dreamed-of breather from their stressful jobs and family responsibilities, they can't wait to feel the freedom of the open road.

When this mis-matched foursome, who have grown far more used to the couch than the saddle, set out for this once-in-a-lifetime experience - they encounter a world that holds far more than they ever bargained for. The trip begins to challenge their wits and their luck, especially during a chance run-in with the Del Fuegos, a real-life biker gang who are less than amused with their novice approach.

As they go looking for adventure, they soon find that they've embarked on a journey they will never forget.

3/30 – Meet the Robinsons
Lewis is an orphan who dreams of finding a family. His journey takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson whisks him away to a world where anything is possible... THE FUTURE.

There, he meets an incredible assortment of characters and a family beyond his wildest imagination, The Robinsons, who help lead him on an amazing and hilarious adventure with heartfelt results.

Based upon the book "A Day with Wilbur Robinson" by William Joyce.

4/13 – Primeval
In one of the most remote places on earth, a bloodthirsty serial killer has claimed over 300 victims, and is still at large to this day. Now, inspired by the true story of the world's most prolific killer, comes "Primeval," a nail-biting horror-thriller that follows an American news crew determined to capture this terrifying murderer alive. The danger begins as producer Tim Freeman (Dominic Purcell, "Prison Break"), cameraman Steven Johnson (Orlando Jones) and their rag-tag team set out on a journey up-river in search of their subject. But the deeper they probe into the mystery of this elusive assassin, the deadlier their trip becomes.

5/25 – Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
In the follow-up to the record-breaking smash 2006 hit "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," we find our heroes Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) allied with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in a desperate quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his mind-bending trap in Davy Jones' locker – while the terrifying ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman and Davy Jones, under the control of the East India Trading Company, wreaks havoc across the Seven Seas. Navigating through treachery, betrayal and wild waters, they must forge their way to exotic Singapore and confront the cunning Chinese Pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat). Now headed beyond the very ends of the earth, each must ultimately choose a side in a final, titanic battle – as not only their lives and fortunes, but the entire future of the freedom-loving Pirate way, hangs in the balance.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Gore Verbinski from a screenplay written by Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio, our beloved cast sets sail once again on a fresh new adventure in May 2007.

6/29 – Ratatouille
After taking audiences on incredible journeys to the worlds of cars, superheroes, fish and toys, only the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios ("Cars," "Finding Nemo," "The Incredibles") could create an entirely new and original world where the unthinkable combination of 5-star restaurants and rats come together for the ultimate fish-out-of-water tale.

In the new animated-adventure, "Ratatouille," a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely - and certainly unwanted - visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

Remy finds himself torn between his calling and passion in life or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef. Directed by Academy Award®-winning Brad Bird ("The Incredibles") and co-directed by Academy Award®-winning Jan Pinkava ("Geri's Game"), "Ratatouille" is slated for release on June 29, 2007.

11/21 – Enchanted
A classic Disney animated fairy tale meets with the modern, live-action romantic comedy in Walt Disney Pictures' "Enchanted." Featuring an all-star cast, the film follows the beautiful princess Giselle (Amy Adams) as she is banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from her magical, musical animated land and finds herself in the gritty reality of the streets of modern-day Manhattan. Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn't operate on a "happily ever after" basis, Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment. But when Giselle begins to fall in love with a charmingly flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who has come to her aid -- even though she is already promised to a perfect fairy tale prince (James Marsden) back home – she has to wonder: can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world? "Enchanted" is directed by Kevin Lima ("Tarzan," "Eloise At Christmastime") from a screenplay written by Bill Kelly ("Blast From the Past") and will feature original songs from the reunited team of acclaimed composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz ("Pocahontas," "Hunchback of Notre Dame").

TBA – Underdog
There's no need to fear. Underdog is here!" The superhero canine with a gift for rhyme returns in an all new live-action re-imagination of the classic cartoon, "Underdog."

After an accident in the mysterious lab of maniacal scientist Dr. Simon Barsinister (Peter Dinklage), an ordinary beagle unexpectedly finds himself with unimaginable powers and the ability to speak. Armed with a fetching superhero costume, Underdog (voiced by comedian Jason Lee) vows to protect the beleaguered citizens of Capitol City and, in particular, one beautiful spaniel named Polly Purebread (voiced by Academy Award® nominee Amy Adams). When a sinister plot by Barsinister and his overgrown henchman Cad (Patrick Warburton) threatens to destroy Capitol City only Underdog can save the day.

Utilizing state-of-the-art CGI special effects mixed with live-action, "Underdog" flies into theaters in summer 2007.

TBA – Dan in Real Life
A widower finds out the woman he fell in love with is his brother's girlfriend.

TBA – The Game Plan
"The Game Plan" tells the story of rugged superstar quarterback Joe Kingman (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), whose Boston-based team is chasing a championship. A 'serial bachelor', Kingman is living the ultimate fantasy: he's rich, famous and the life of the party. But this dream is suddenly sacked for a loss when he discovers the 7-year-old daughter (newcomer Madison Pettis) he never knew he had – the product of a last fling before parting years ago with his young wife. Now, during the most important time in his career, he must figure out how to juggle his parties, practices and dates with the newfound ballet classes, bedtime stories and dolls that come with his daughter. Equally perplexed is his hard-edged mega-agent, Stella (Kyra Sedgwick), herself without a parental bone in her body. Despite the often hilarious misadventures that come with being a new father, Joe discovers that's there's more to life than money, endorsements and thousands of adoring fans: the love and care of one very special small fan is the only thing that matters.

TBA – National Treasure 2
No marketing information has been released at this point, but the rumors are the movie centers on an alleged government conspiracy to kill Abraham Lincoln. This time the document involved are missing pages from John Wilkes Booth’s diary.

Great info AV. Thanks!

Ratatouille certainly has me intrigued. I laughed at the preview, and that rarely happens to me. At this early stage, it looks like it could be very funny.

Any plans for Oswald?

I've heard nothing about 'Oswald', but everyone expects a "Treasures" release sooner or later. No one outside of the extreme Disney geekdom knows Oswald exists. And since the character has no appeal to little girls, there's no marketing interest in the property at all. Disney got the rights back just because they could, but I don't think they have any plans.

The other group missing are The Muppets. Disney spent big bucks to get that property, and expcept for the horrible 'Wizard of Oz' teleflick they haven't appeared anywhere.

The casting in Underdog is perfect, but I saw a preview and I just don't see it working--the real-life dog throws me.

Hoping National Treasure 2 can be as much mindless fun as the first one (I mean that as a compliment).

You know, the last 2 muppet movies have sucked large, if they did a good, a truely good muppet movie, they'd have a huge hit, because the muppets are insanely popular with adults.

I haven't seen a preview yet, but I'm also having trouble visualizing that working.

Is Sweet Polly Purebread a "real" dog also? Or is she just played by Sandra Bullock?

And we already have our first change!!!!!!

Primeval is jumping from its April release date to next week - 1/12. There's no reason being given, however the film is being released under the Hollywood Pictures banner rather than Touchstone. HP is used by the films that Disney most wants to disassociate itself from; there is a real saying about town that goes “if it’s the Sphinx, it stinx.”

Jumping up a movie’s release date is rare; jumping it to now is almost unheard of. There will be no time to mount a real marketing campaign for this film. The only hope is that word of mouth attracts people and there’s a lot of unsold ad time on ABC this week.

There are some rumors floating about the reason behind this move. One is that next week’s release schedule is weak and horror films have shown some strength in January. Disney is trying to step into an open field. The other rumor (the stronger one) is that PotC: At World’s End is dramatically behind schedule and may miss it’s own release date. Dumping Primeval now will free up studio support and marketing resources that are probably better used for a final push to get Pirates into theaters. It does fit into other rumors about why the movie’s premiere date at Disneyland has not yet been set – they may simply not have any movie to show.

The excitement and glamour of Hollywood continues undiminished…

... because the muppets are insanely popular with adults.

I was amazed last year: the muppetvision movie at Disney MGM Studios was just about my 4yo daughter's favorite attraction in all of Disney World - she had never even seen the Muppets before. I know most of it was just the slapstick aspect, but it made me realize there might still be real potential in this franchise, if handled correctly, and not just for adults.

Regarding the purchase, I was under the impression that Disney ended up not paying that much for the franchise - certainly nowhere close to what they were prepared to pay a few years earlier, and not overpaying the way they did for earlier acquisitions like Fox Family. And, doesn't the deal include the Bear in the Big Blue House characters, also (which they are still using, I believe)?

Speaking of Treasures or Legacy series, there is supposed to be a new DVD about Disneyland in one of them? I believe this is the same thing they've been developing for years?

As far as the Muppets goes, nothing makes me scratch my head as much as this does. Why in the world did they bother getting those rights? Are they profitting by it by doing nothing?

I haven't seen the release schdule for any of the speciality sets. It would be hard to beleive, however, that there's another Disneyland DVD in the works right now after all the releases for the 50th anniversary. I also don't know how much unreleased material they have left. I would like to see a big package for EPCOT Center's 25th birthday this year - the company made several promotional films and television specials for it way back, it would be nice to see those again.

The Muppets are really a case of corporate ego. As I have heard the story, it was Jim Henson who approached Disney. He had grown tired of the business side of things and wanted to focus on creating (it was going to be a deal akin to what's happened with Pixar). Eisner saw the Muppets as just another conquest of the Mega Mogul Media Empire and lept at the chance for another acquisition. When Mr. Henson tragically passed away, Eisner grew greedy and essentially tried to take the company away from the Henson children. It was a very public battle that made Eisner look very, very bad - and then slapped him in the face with a very public loss. Michael Eisner was never one to say he was wrong or to accept defeat - his ego was at stake. The business case really didn't matter anymore, he wanted to save face. So even though it took a long time, he won.

Even if all he won was an empty box.

My God, that's funny. However, I'm sure the movie won't be. Why don't they just do a live-action Yogi Bear? Or a live action Nemo? What the hell?

Underdog? Who the heck cares? I'm sick of these retreads like this, Dukes of Hazzard, Miami Vice, etc

Oh, come one now. You wouldn't want to see a new Greatest American Hero movie? Or the New Zoo Review?

Greatest American Hero is AwesomE!!
I will tolerate no disagreement on this.

Also, there's a Youtube video out there where this due rewrites you've got the touch from the original Tranformers movie into a song about Micheal Bay. It was pretty funny.

Ok, I look forward to "Meet the Robinsons" based upon the book "A Day with Wilbur Robinson" by William Joyce. William Joyce wrote my favorite childhood book "Dinosaur Bob" hopefully the movie will be good.
