has anyone joined this? I got a note in the mail that I coukd get 4 dvd's for $1 each & then you have to buy 4 more in 2 years at $19.99 plus shipping..Is this a good deal?:confused3 Of the movies you have to but within 2 years are they current full length movies or do they limit what you can choose from? Thanks!

I have 1 more movie to go and I have fulfilled my membership!!

It's not a bad deal (but its not that great either) You get a lot of movies fast (and cheap) but then you need to wait for them to offer a good deal to buy more. DVD's are almost all $21.95 ($2 higher than , say, Target) and shipping is $3.95 for the first title and $1 for each additional on that order. Usually to break even you need to order 2-3 movies at a time to "break even" at the Target price.
Sometimes they offer good deals, like buy 1 at full price and get the rest 50% off (I'm hoping for this deal soon!!).

It also taked awhile for new releases to be added. I do not believe Cars or Pirates 2 is part of the club yet.

Also, every month you get a postcard in the mail for the featured title that you must respond to by a certain date. That annoys me a tad since it feels like as soon as I respond, here comes another one!

Am I sorry I joined, no- would I do it again- probably not.

Hope this helps!

Well, I said I would not do it again, but I just could not help myself! I did this club several years ago, fulfilled my obligation and quit. Everything previous poster said is true - however, you CAN set it up so that you can reply online if you do or don't want the movie. This is better for me than trying to remember to mail a postcard.

Overall, you pay less per movie, it's just waiting for the good deals - and I bought the 2 extra movies at discounted prices, so I only have 2 more to buy, I think.

The selection is pretty good (go online - there are TONS of movies listed there. Lots of oldies too, if that interests you). We had not completely replaced videos with DVDs, so it was a cheaper way for me to do this.

We just fullfilled our obligation and considering quitting the club. The main reason that we joined was for the promotion of 5 for 1.99 each (or somwething to that effect). Everything that the pp have said is true, esp the part about being dilligent to respond a decline as soon as the card arrives. We've been charged too many time for movies that we don't want. So back in the mail they went at my expense. In the future we might join agian but it would be for the new membership deal and then we'd try to fulfill it asap.

I belong to this and it has been a good deal for me. I wait for the deals. There was recently a buy one at regular price and 50% off all others. There was also just recently a $10 for a long list of titles that I wanted. Many times you can also get a free shipping code. I've done this several times over the last couple of years. I got the free shipping along with the 40 or 50% off. I am slowly replacing all of my Disney tapes with DVD.

I do respond online. As soon as I get the card, I go online and decline the monthly deal. If I change my mind before the deadline, then that is great. If not, I don't end up with a DVD that I didn't want.

I have bought at least 30 DVD's and have probably averaged about $13 per DVD including the shipping charges. We wanted a lot of the older DVD's as well as the newer ones.

I've been a member for about 6 or 7 yrs now. Fulfilled a long time ago. Once you've done that, you get VIP status. There are special pins, better deals and lots of little things year round that you get. like valentines cards for your kids and christmas postcards and such. I am also able to opt out of every mailing automatically and tell them just when I want to purchase something. I aven't bought anything in a while but I'm sure I will be soon. It does take a while before the new movies go there but I like being able to find any Disney movie, even the adult type movies on their website. It's not all cartoons. Ther are some that you haven't seen since you were a kid and you can buy them now.

I've been a member for quite a few years now. I enjoy it! If I want to order more than one DVD, I usually wait for the specials. These come often. Every month seems to be a different one. Some months the offers are better so I'll hold out until a good one is available, like 50% off. I use the automated phone system to accept or decline my monthly feature - no big deal. I try to make a habit to do it as soon as I get the mailing so that I don't forget.
