Anyone join? We keep getting this in the mail, 3 Disney movies for $1.99 each and then you have to buy 4 more over a certain period of time.

My DH joined but he is a movie club nut. When he first joined the military he joined Columbia House under different names for the free movies. His name is Robert so he had a Robert, Rob, Bobby, and Bob accounts. Now I am trying to get him to part with some of his 200+ VHS tapes.

I joined a while ago and only have one movie left to buy. It's the same sort of thing as Columbia House or BMG. You get several movies really cheap and the regular selections, along with the shipping and handling, are kind of pricey. I think it's worth it as long as you only buy as many regular selections as you need to fulfill your agreement. Also, I've had problems with them sending me the title of the month even though declined (online). If this happens just mark "Return to Sender" on the box without opening it and put it back in the mailbox.

I just canceled my membership through them, but I did like it. When I bought my regular priced movie, I did get some pretty good deals. After you fulfill your agreement, they call you a VIP member. You are supppossed to get these great deals, but you still had to buy at least one a regular club price (which with shipping could be $25). So I decided to cancel, I was tired of always having to respond to my monthly selection too.

Thanks! If we do it, it would just be until our agreement is fulfilled. DO they hassle you when you cancel?

No not at all, they just asked why I was canceling. Then she said if you ever want to join again, feel free to call. She was very nice.

Thanks for the info. We have decided not to join. It seemed like more hassle than it was worth.

Because so many stores like Best Buy charge high prices for older Disney releases, the club still can be a bargain and time saver if you are looking for older releases. Disney doesn't allow their titles in other clubs so the club is the only way to get them via a discount club.

On the other hand, if your willing to buy them as they come out, much better options exist. Recently the Disney Store (online and B&M) have had great deals that include fun stuff like plush toys and pins for little more than the other stores. Almost all stores has great deals and discounts on Disney DVD's on release week.
