Disney moved us from midship to aft...

Wondering if people who have experience would consider 6134 on the Dream as an "aft" cabin? We were miship at 6590 but just got word that Disney moved us to 6134 for maintenance. My concern is that we booked midship (which I'm fairly sure would have been $80-$100 more than aft in the same category) and this cabin is very far back... We have only sailed midship and I'm also worried about the feeling more movement.

What sailing is this for?

While 6134 is more aft than midship, I'd consider it sort of more midship than aft. It's just about 1/2 between the direct midship spot and the furthest aft room.

And, really, the big cruise ships are pretty stable, for the most part, regardless of where you are.

Both those rooms are the same category (4D), so they would cost the same.

These rooms are in the same category between the mid and aft stairwells. They would have been the same price.

I though the same, but as I'm looking at the Disney site, they are both the same category, however the aft vs midship vary in price with aft being anywhere from $80-$120 cheaper than the midship option, even though they would both be considered 4D

Oops, I was wrong! I was looking at different decks.

Aug 29. However, I'm seeing quite a few comments on here and other places of August & September sailings being affected.
Yes, I've seen that, too. Looks like some refurbishment is going on.

It's our first Disney cruise. Guess we will roll with it and have a great time! Was also looking forward to starboard side (heard better views in port) but now are port side. Oh well!

8 times we've been on the port side. 2 times on starboard. We're kinda geared toward being on the port side now. We have to think about it when we're on the starboard side which way to turn when we leave our room.

We are on the 29th August cruise too! It seems like you are not the only person to be moved from the middle of the ship on upcoming cruises. You could always call DCL and see if they have port side rooms if that is what they want. Chances are the computer system just automatically moved you. I know whenever I check out the cruises online, it automatically allocates on one side and we prefer the other!

Anyway, see you on board!!!! :flower1:

Our TA called and they told her that the only other verandah that would accommodate 4 was a HA accessible on deck 8. It is almost exactly where our first cabin was, just 2 decks up but I think I'd rather stick to a regular family verandah :)

I don't know the difference between the two rooms offered, but at least there sounded like there was at least some choice for you to make, even if the other choice was not to your liking/didn't work for your family. Who knows, for whatever reason, you may find this was the best move you ever had to make!

We're the same way, but on the starboard side! Personally, we're not in the room much when we're in port so the view doesn't really do much for us. But walking down the stairs and heading starboard is now a force of habit. On our last cruise we were handing out our FE gifts and kept going starboard first then walking all the way around to the other side. (at least we got out steps in to help fight off the cruise 15).
