I was in the park yesterday during the leap day event and was excited to use the new Disney Mobile Magic app that I added to my new iPhone. I wasn't able to get it to work all day though!

It would let me open the app, but then it said that once I was inside the park it would unlock other aspects of the app. Well guess what? I was in the park, and in several different locations!

Has anyone had any luck with this?

It seems funny that they are promoting this app even though they also have such a poor signal at the park.

I'm not sure what you mean about poor signal at the park, there is no free wifi in the parks, unless you luckly can get one of the hotels or McDonalds outside the park.

Yesterday I did notice that it didn't seem to report anything correctly at night.

The reason I think it was added to Iphones but isn't a very up to date App is about the nextgen experience coming to the parks. It may apply more so to WDW than DLR, but Disney is planning for us to be able to remotely reserve dining reservations, check in to hotels with out going to registration, reserve show seats, and more. There is just some official information about this but plenty of rumors.

Was your GPS (Location Settings) enabled, both in general and for the specific app?

We're heading out to DL tomorrow; I'll give it a go and see what happens.

We've used the Android version many times down at WDW and it worked quite well there, though the location was a bit generous...walking around Caribbean Beach Resort made it think you were in Epcot, for example.

The added features you get in the park is up-to-date wait times right from Disney's computers, rather than High/Moderate/See Now waits, as well as fast-pass times.

I have the app but havent been to the parks yet to try it. I dont remember having any signal issues at DL for my last trip though (Im on ATT). I used my iphone 4 all the time and never had an issue. I had a different app with a map and used that to navigate. It updated ride wait times and was pretty accurate (within about 10 min or so). It also updated rather quickly.

Another small note. On the One Disney Day, service was reported many time to be slow or not working. This is probably due to heavy demand on the local network.

I guess what I meant by signal was that I wasn't connecting to the internet very quickly (sometimes had to wait a couple minutes), and my texts weren't being sent out either.

To the other poster who asked, my GPS is turned on so it accepts my current location.
