You guys may have already discussed this, but what do ya'll know about the new Disney Mix stick mp3 player. Anybody bought one? What are the pros and cons and can they be used with any music downloading site?

Thanks
Laura

Bumping up to see if anyone can give any input. This is another thing on DS list that I am wondering about.

From my experience I think they are very cheap and flimsy. They don't look like they could take much wear and tear from the younger crowd. I have to say that I'm saving my money on this one! My dd would have loved one though!

I got one for DD but it is a Christmas gift so I can't help you.

I think it looks good for the price.

I brought the TINK for DD12 Xmas .I took a quick look at it and it's not an Ipod but looks good enough for the theme (dd love tink ) .I have a 1g sd card sitting around so I might open everything up and give it a run today I will post later on ease of use and sound Q. later.

I bought one for each of my oldest kids and although they are probably not as good as the ipod they are also not as expensive and they won't be a huge loss if they get lost. I also wanted to see if my kids (9 and 7) would actually use one enough to justify the money. Disneyshopping.com has them and can ship in time for Christmas.

I just ripped and loaded a Disney mix7 cd onto the 1GB card while it was loaded in the MIX STIX very easy to use and the songs sounded just like all my others ( PHONE ,MPIO.) players .
Also loaded 1 song on internal memory ( FROM I_TUNES )with no problem at all.
Now like everyone else said this will not replace the I-POD but for the price and having an add-on card slot you really can't beat it for a starter MP3 player.I also purchased the desktop adapter and it sound OK as well.(getting the IZ or I-DOG )as well.
Hope this helps everyone and good luck

Thanks so much for the info, I bought the Princess one for DGD and MM for me. So far Disney has only shipped the Princess one so I couldn't open it up to see how it works....is it easy to download songs from itunes, DH has ipod, and grandson and DS too, so they could do it for her. I hope mine comes soon so I can play with it before Christmas  Thanks again :earsgirl:

Where did you get the 1GB card. I am pretty unknowledge when it comes to ipods/mp3 players so is there a special card for the mix stick or can I just pick something up at Best Buy?

It 's a standard 1Gb SSD card yes best buy sell them I got mine on e-bay .

If you look at the preloaded cards they are selling with the disney music on them thats the size.

Also you can't load from I-tunes but you can download cd to I-tunes ,then open folders and drop&drag using the windows explorer very easy.
