Disney Memories Wedding - Difficult Getting Date?

Hello everyone!

I am relatively new the the site and have never posted before. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information or advice on Disney Memories Collections Weddings.

DF and I just came back from our first Disney family vacation. I had been several times but it was his first. I told him I have always wanted to get married at Disney and he told me to look into it. I never thought I could afford it until I found the Memories Collection!! Our original wedding date wasn't until next Fall (2012) but since the promo is ending April 2012 we are moving it up.

I am a little concered though with getting the date that we want. I would like April 22nd and know that I can't book it until 6 months pior. But if all time and locations are booked on the 22nd then that leaves only the following weekend to get in.

Anyone that has already had or booked their memories wedding, did you have any difficulty getting the date and location you wanted? Did you call exactlly 6 months ahead of time?

Any information or advice would be helpful!

Congrats! Have you called DFTW yet? Yes there are time frames but you need to get in the flow!people all want such different dates for different reasons so usually folks easily get what they want unless it some weird date like 11/11/11!

Hi! I'm new too! I actually just booked a Memories package last Friday for 11/12/11 and had no problem getting the date and time (9am) that we wanted. I'm sure if you call at the 6 month mark you won't have a problem!

Where were you looking at having it? We got Luau beach.

We booked our Memories vow renewal only 5 weeks in advance when they first offered the package. The let us have a Friday date, even though the info on the site says Saturday and Sunday. So if by chance you don't get the date you want, you may not have to wait until the following weekend - I have heard of others getting non-Saturday and Sunday dates. Also keep in mind there are three locations each with several time slots per day so if you are flexible in that sense you should be able to get the date you want. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I feel better about getting our date and having my dream Disney wedding!

I did call Disney and asked a few questions. They said that the dates and times usually fill up but didn't say how quickly. I think if I call right at the 6 month point at 8am I should get a spot.

I am open to any of the locations but have 2 that I would prefer. My first choice is Luau Beach at the Poly. And I'm open to any of the time slots.

It's 6 months from the day you want to have the ceremony. I wouldn't worry about not getting your time and date, though.

My Memories vow renewal is in 3 days! You can book 6 months out from the actual date. I had no problem at all booking the date I wanted. I called exactly 6 months to the day. Someone called me back about 2 days later and every time slot was available for the site I wanted (Luau Beach at the Polynesian.) I was so stressed about it and it turned out there was no need to be!

When I called a couple weeks ago with questions (actually i called three different times in a week because i was so paranoid about making sure i call on the exact day i can) They told me 6 months to the month. They said October is their busy month for having weddings but other than that most people don't book the memories collection until 4 months or fewer out.

Memories Collection Weddings are only held on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. 22nd April will be a Tuesday.

When the time came to book I said to Disney I want to get married any date in September whatever you have available and they offered me about 5 different dates and I had my choice of which one I wanted. I chose 30th Sept 2013
